Prophecies concerning Gaza and Other Portions of the Promised Land by Amnon Goldberg
Brit-Am Editor's Note: Among other things Amnon Goldberg refers to: It was from from Gaza that Nosson Ha'Azasi first proclaimed the false-messiahship of Shabsai Tzvi, and in 2005 some speculated on the metaphysical roots of the antinomian Hitnatkut (which even Netanyahu voted for in the Knesset!) zeal of the secular Israeli Establishment in singling out for destruction and deportation the flourishing Torah-observant communities of Gush Katif, with all its dreadful sequelae to this day; see "Bye Bye Gaza", Barry Chamish 2006. We think this is too simplistic. Shabtai Zvi (1626-1676) who misled many Jews and who himself converted to Islam. His second in-command was Nathan of Gaza (1643-1680) who had once sojourned in Gaza though he died in Macedonia. They founded a movement of doing evil for its own sake, a phenomenon known as "anti-nomianism." At first this aspect of their activities was a secret and only became widely known much later. Meanwhile many otherwise good Jews had been mislead by them. Ever since then Conspiracy Theories have made use of what they were and imputed to them the intention of destroying the Jewish People. There may or may not have been something in this. Nevertheless Conspiracy Theories more often than not are harmful, inimical, and mendacious. They themselves are part of a Conspiracy! We have seen otherwise good people go astray because of Conspiracy Theories. Conspiracy Theories are usually anti-Jewish and appear to have a pyschotic effect on their adherents! See: Know your enemy. Conspiracy Theories are one Big Conspiracy!

My letter on Lebanon in prophecy was printed in Hamishpacha magazine on 26 July 2006 during the Lebanon War.
Nothing much has changed 18 years on!
Dear Sir
The threats of Hizbollah remind one of the Mishna: "In the footsteps of the Moshiach....the Galilee will be destroyed" (Sota 49), ch''v. "The Moshiach ben Yosef will appear in the Galilee (in Tzfas according to the Me'am Lo'ez)....the Yishmaelites will stir up battles in the world, compelling the Edomites to come against them by sea and land and near Jerusalem" (Zohar Va'era).
"Lebanon will fall by a mighty one" (Yeshaya 10), "For the violence of Lebanon shall cover you, and the plunder of cattle shall break them (agricultural damage?), because of the blood of man and the violence of the land, the city, and all its inhabitants" (Chavakuk 2), "The ambassadors of peace will weep bitterly....Lebanon is ashamed and hewn down" (Yeshaya 33). "I am against you O Tzidon and will execute judgment against you" (Yechezkel 28): "When Tzur (Tyre) is destroyed, Jerusalem will be rebuilt" (Rashi, Breishis 25). "Warships will come from Kittim to attack Ashur (Iraq/Syria?) and Eiver (Iran?), and they too will be totally destroyed" (Bamidbar 24)! "Damascus will cease to be a city and will become a heap of ruins" (Yeshaya 17), "Gaza will be forsaken, Ashkelon a desolation, Ashdod will be emptied out at noonday, and Ekron uprooted" (Tzfanya 2).
In February 1991 the then recently-resigned British PM Margaret Thatcher lamented the historic failure of the coalition to encircle and remove the 'Thief of Baghdad' in Iraq. ...The Lubavitcher Rebbe strongly urged the encirclement of Cairo and Damascus in 1973, of Tyre in 1978, and of Beirut in 1982, deeming them propitious times to defang the klippas yishmoel [Impure forces of the Arab world] once and for all. And he predicted that failure to do so would ensure that the Israelis would be repeatedly compelled to unwillingly reconquer them again and again! According to all Halachic opinions, Gaza and Lebanon are part of Eretz Yisroel, and once occupied by Jewish forces, they are forbidden to be voluntarily relinquished.
The feared Anti-Moshiach Armilus will reign from Gaza (Midrash Talpiyos) and perish there: " Ashkelon will see it and be afraid. Gaza too will writhe in great pain. Also Ekron, for her expectation has been confounded. Moreover, the king will perish from Gaza, and Ashkelon will not be inhabited." (Zecharya 9). It was from from Gaza that Nosson Ha'Azasi first proclaimed the false-messiahship of Shabsai Tzvi, and in 2005 some speculated on the metaphysical roots of the antinomian Hitnatkut [i.e. Disnegagement from Gaza and Gush Katif] (which even Netanyahu voted for in the Knesset!) zeal of the secular Israeli Establishment in singling out for destruction and deportation the flourishing Torah-observant communities of Gush Katif, with all its dreadful sequelae to this day; see "Bye Bye Gaza", Barry Chamish 2006.
Even though the words "Torah" and "Hashem" have been expunged from the Zahal "Code of Ethics", we pray that Hashem Ba'al Milchamos - that the L-rd Mighty in Battle will go forth with the Jewish army: "I will send fire on the wall of Gaza, which shall devour the palaces thereof" (Amos 1), "What are you to Me O Tyre and Tzidon and the coasts of Philistia ( Gaza ).... I will swiftly return retribution on your own head" (Yoel 4)
