The following notes are derived from the work of Rabbi Fishel Mael. He brings sources for everything said below. Our own understanding and opinion do not necessarily coincide.
The Tribe of Benjamin
The Tribes of Benjamin and Simeon were included in Judah.
Benjamin and Joseph were the two sons of Rachel and Jacob.
Beauty and glory were given to the descendants of Rachel especially Joseph.
The Rulership of the Children of Rachel is over the Gentiles.

The Rulership of Judah is over Israelites.
Mordecai (in the Book of Esther) was from the Tribe of Benjamin.
Jacob and Esau were paralleled by Mordecai and Haman the Agagite.
Benjamin treated the cloak of royalty inappropriately whereas Esau did not.
Judah is paralleled by Babylon.
Benjamin is compared to Madai and Persia.
Persia is compared to a bear which is always restless.
The walls of Jerusalem in the future will be built of Shoham and Yaspo (Jasper) stones. These are the stones of Joseph and Benjamin.
Joseph and Benjamin were praiseworthy for the respect they gave their father.
Joseph and Benjamin have the ability to unite all the Tribes of Israel.
On the other hand both Joseph and Benjamin were zealous to preserve their uniqueness.
The Hands of the Handmaidens would endeavor to ensure peace amongst the sons of the Chief Wives. This applies especially to the Tribe of Asher whose stone was therefore ranked together with that of Joseph and Benjamin.
Joseph and Benjamin were plagued with a tendency to anger and disagreement.
Naphtali is the Tribe who unites and brings about peace amongst the Tribes. Redemption comes through Unity of the Tribes.
