Dear Yair,
Re: Yom Ha-Shoa. (Day of the Holocaust) My Grandfather, Robert Murray "Mack" McGee was an infantry officer during WW2. He made photographs of the camps he visited and my uncle has them now. They show bodies stacked like cord wood as high as a house. Thank you for having the courage to author Germany and Edom. Psalm 17 May G-d always help and protect Brit-am from her enemies.
Re: Studying Proverbs 2. The Evil Man and the Strange Woman. Solomon helps identify the Lost 10 Tribes?
In 1 Kings 11 11-13. G-d speaks directly to Solomon. He tells him that because of his involvement with foreign women, and the resulting failure to keep the covenant his kingdom would be taken from him. Because of his great wisdom, Solomon was predicting the fate of his kingdom when he wrote Proverbs 2.
In Proverbs 2, Solomon exhorts his reader to seek wisdom and as a benefit they will be able to avoid negative influence from two characters: An Evil man and a Strange Woman.
According to Rashi, the Evil Man corrupts Torah (v.12). (I found Rashi's comments on Sefaria.org) The Strange Woman seems worse. She causes one to forget the Covenant (Torah) (v.17). The Strange Woman is also associated with a serious consequence that "None that go into her return again" (v.19). BUT there the consequences for going the way of the Evil Man are not explicit in the text. We find in v.21-22 a description of those that will remain in the Land and those that will be cut off. THEREFORE, the preceding verses about the Evil Man and Strange Woman could also refer to those people that remain and are cut off. The same Hebrew word ERETZ is used in for both earth and land in the English translations. In this context, ERETZ could be understood as The Land of Israel.
Could those that followed the Evil Man (corruption of Torah) represent the House of Judah? Judah made mistakes, but only suffered a temporary captivity then returned. During the time of Nehemiah and again in 1949. Could those that went into the Evil Woman (forgetting the covenant) represent the House of Ephraim? They have forgotten the Covenant (Torah) and have never been granted the ability to return. However, 1949 was not that long ago, could the consequences of the Evil Woman also be temporary?
Psalms 135 seems to offer an optimistic outcome! The L-rd has chosen Jacob for himself and Israel for a peculiar treasure. (v.4) And there always seems to be room for reprieve from punishment because in v.14 For the L-rd will judge his people, and he will repent himself concerning his servants.
Re: Personal Comment about Proverbs 2.
Psalm 119:71 It is good for me that I have been afflicted; that I might learn thy statutes. Thank you for the the message of Brit-Am.
Prov 3:5 Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths. Be not wise in thine own eyes: fear the Lord, and depart from evil. I really shouldn't worry so much. I'm on the right path.
Isaiah 11:11,It shall come to pass in that day,That the Lord shall set His hand again the second time,To recover the remnant of His people who are left,,From Assyria and Egypt,,From Pathros and Cush,,From Elam and Shinar,,From Hamath and the islands of the sea Things will be different and get better one day.
