a - ai (In Hebrew "ai" can denote anything indeterminate though it is used sparingly).
a - In Old English and French the sound "a" meaning to do {something}, e.g. abash, abide, abuse, parallels the Hebrew "ha."
abandon - H. abad (destroy, lose).
ABASH - H. baiesh, (Make ashamed. Make rotten, shameful).
ABBEY, ABBOTT - H. Abba, (father).
