Why is Churchill the most notable and remembered of the leaders of the Allies in WW2?
Churchill saw the danger of Nazi Germany from the very beginning.
He lead the nation when it and its daughter-Dominions were alone. He spoke of ongoing war, unwavering defiance, and ultimate victory.
This is what the British People wanted and they continued the war ALONE.
Churchill spoke for them and expressed their feelings.
Churchill encouraged scientific research and industrial co-ordination.
This helped win the Battle of Britain.
The Battle of Britain broke the psychological edge of the Axis.
It showed the Germans could be defeated at the thing they did best even when the odds were on their side.
Churchill established the rapport with the USA under Roosevelt. This led to Lend Lease.
This led to the defeat of Germany.
