What was Adolf Hitler's rationale for hating Jews?
Hitler according to his writings had the following rationalizations for hating Jews:
Jews had stabbed Germany in the back by being responsible (he claimed) for the surrender of Germany in World War-1.
Jews were behind Communism. They therefore threatened the hierarchical order of society that Germany needed.
Jews were also exploiters of mankind in the international sphere.
Jews were inherently racially corrupt, dirty, vile, dark, and deformed: Some of them might look respectable and Aryan but that just showed their dubious nature.
It was conveniently accepted at that time that copulation permanently affected the later offspring even when the father was someone else. This was the scientific lore as taught by such authorities as Charles Darwin, the father of evolution (Charles Darwin, 'The Variations of Animals and Plants Under Domestication,' 2nd ed., London, 1875, Vol. 1, p. 437, see Poliakov, 'The Aryan Myth.'.
Incidentally Hitler believed in evolution and described the Jews as a deviant branch of it.
The presence of Jews therefore threatened to pollute the Aryan bloodstream. it was believed that a Jew who had intercourse with a German woman caused that women to later bear impaired children even when the biological father was someone else, i.e. not Jewish. Hitler opined that the biological value of the female in question was lost to the German people after a Jew had been with her.
The Jewish males were depicted as having a hypnotic attraction over German females. These otherwise supposedly virtuous ladies, it was taught, allowed themselves to be seduced at the drop of the hat by any repulsive Jew who made himself available to serve as a stud for them.
This later doctrine was popularly promulgated by Julius Streicher but Hitler also mentions it and believed in it. Hitler boasted of reading every issue, from beginning to end, of the newspaper put out by Streicher . The regular fare consisted of salacious descriptions of Jewish sexual conquests at the expense of Aryan manhood, old fashioned lies about the Jews, and calls to exterminate them. This was the gutter approach. Whether something was true or not no longer mattered as long as it accorded with the animalistic needs of the gutter ego.
Hitler in fact took to heart anything negative said about the Jews, no matter how preposterous or contradictory it may have been. He was not an original thinker in this regard.
The real reasons for his hatred of the Jews are apparently much deeper than the explanations he gave.
