Way back in the Never-Never it is said that through his mother one of his grandmothers was Jewish. Elvis himself was aware of his remote Jewish ancestry. He was sympathetic to Jews and Judaism. I heard he had a neighbor in the same building who was a Jewish cantor and used to practice. Elvis would listen. The music of Elvis was somehow influenced by this.
