Some people like Jews, others do not. They who like them have each their own personal reasons. Gentiles I know said they found Jews sympathetic and considerate though others claimed the opposite. Jews are considered to be intelligent and intellectual. They are also challenging and original and these qualities are appreciated. Jews are also relatively speaking generous though a penny-pinching streak has also been noticed. Jews adhere to the Jewish Religion and this is still held in high regard by many Christians. Jews are considered to have negative and positive attributes with the positive points in ascendancy.
A personal anecdote may be of interest: I once knew a Christian scholar. He was opposed to Jews on intellectual and religious grounds. He lived among Jews but seemed to be always searching for reasons to criticize them and avidly devoured anti-Jewish literature. He also claimed that Jews were dishonest. Then one day he had to make an outlay of funds on some business deal and discussed the issue with me. He said he wanted to find a Jewish go-between. I asked him since he felt so badly about Jews why was he now looking for one. He said that Jews were merciful and bashful. If you caught a Jew cheating he could be ashamed of it. He might also return some of the money or make other considerations as recompense. On the other hand, ff you caught a Gentile in the same situation the Gentile, according to his experience, was liable to sneer at you and laugh in your face. Take it or leave it that is what this otherwise anti-Semite fanatic related.
