As someone Jewish, what were your feelings when you first touched the land in Israel?

It is hard to say. Everyone is different. The reactions vary. Also it is difficult to define if the feelings experienced emanate from Jewishness per se or just individual personality. My own feelings were of coming home, of not being on a journey waiting to move on, any more. A person feels more alive, more certain but also more challenged. A Jew usually feels more secure in Israel than elsewhere even when the objective reality belies it. This experience (of feeling more secure in the Land of Israel) is even expressed as taken for granted in Rabbinical Legal Literature.
In continuation one may come to realize that it is NOT so easy but that is another story.
