Answers to Questions by Yair Davidiy

Why do nearly half of the Israeli population support the complete expulsion of Arabs from Israel?

Source: Almost half of Israel's Jews support the idea of expelling Arabs, new poll shows
Even if this means West Bank residents should be expelled from the West Bank, when is mass expulsion justified, legal, ethical, and moral?

Answer:
Would "complete expulsion" also include "the encouragement of emigration with compensation and assistance in re-settlement?"
Perhaps this is what the Arabs really want?
Has anyone considered such a possibility?
Where would they go to?
Most of the initial two million could easily be absorbed in existing Palestinian and Arab communities overseas.
If enough money was offered new possibilities of settlement would also come available in places like Tunisia, Algeria, and Brazil, etc.

For the sake of perspective remember the following:

The above quoted sources present a complicated scenario.

The Arabs as a group want to see Israel disappear. They would probably kill all the Jews here if they could. The purpose of terror against Jews is not so much to better their condition but rather to frighten Jews into leaving.
Nevertheless, they are also practical on a day to day basis. When they are not blowing themselves and others up they try to put food on the table.
Jews usually pay more and treat them better than their fellow Ishmaelites do.
This however does not guarantee anything.
Let the work they may now have come to an end or a disagreement arise and their attitude will change.

By anecdote:
I once went to visit someone in jail in Israel.
There was an Arab youth there who had come to visit another prisoner who was incarcerated for a non-nationalistic crime.
A disagreement arose over a technical matter between the Arab and a Druze Arabic-speaking warder.
The warder sent the youth away who departed wrathfully declaring his intention to carry out an act of terror against Jews in protest.

The idea of a two-state solution is not going to work.

Most Arabs support indiscriminate terror against Jews because they want the Jews to disappear even if the Jews are otherwise better to them.
And in some cases they are not.
Jews wants Arab to leave because Jews want to stay alive. There may be other reasons as well but that is the main one.
The Transference of populations has been a frequent occurrence in recent history.
In some instances it might be the best solution.
Take Syria as an example.
The Alawis, Sunnis, Shi'ites, Kurds, and Druze, etc, can no longer live together.
In the past they were artificially conglomerated under Alawi control.
This may no longer be feasible.
Should the land therefore be divided among the different communities?
Perhaps.
At all events whatever solution arises some degree of population transference will be involved.
This may take place within the borders of Syria or outside of them or a bit of both.
Geographical entities cannot always be divided along ethnic lines.
Transfer of populations may be necessary.

Perhaps just enabling those Arabs who wish to leave to do so should be facilitated?
That may be a beginning?

Genesis 21:  9 And Sarah saw the son of Hagar the Egyptian, whom she had borne to Abraham, scoffing. 10 Therefore she said to Abraham, Cast out this bondwoman and her son; for the son of this bondwoman shall not be heir with my son, namely with Isaac. 11 And the matter was very displeasing in Abrahams sight because of his son. 12 But God said to Abraham, Do not let it be displeasing in your sight because of the lad or because of your bondwoman. Whatever Sarah has said to you, listen to her voice; for in Isaac your seed shall be called.
Numbers 33: 50 Now the LORD spoke to Moses in the plains of Moab by the Jordan, across from Jericho, saying, 51 Speak to the children of Israel, and say to them: When you have crossed the Jordan into the land of Canaan, 52 then you shall drive out all the inhabitants of the land from before you... 55 But if you do not drive out the inhabitants of the land from before you, then it shall be that those whom you let remain shall be irritants in your eyes and thorns in your sides, and they shall harass you in the land where you dwell. 56 Moreover it shall be that I will do to you as I thought to do to them.
