Why did Sweden ban Jewish practices?
Archaeologist have found remains of an early Khazar settlement in Sweden. This apparently dates from before the time of the Khazar conversion to Judaism.
Â Swedish savants in the past traced the Swedish people to the Ancient Middle East and/or to Tribes of Israel.
Â In the Bronze Age Sweden was colonized by people of Minoan, Egyptian, and Phoenician civilization.

Â Swedish diplomat Raoul Wallenberg acting on behalf of the Swedish Government and in co-ordination with the USA saved tens of thousands of Jews in Hungary.
Â The Swedish Government and Swedish society however during World War-2 were discriminatory towards the Jews. They were certainly not made to feel welcome or secure.
Â After 1942 when German defeat appeared to be inevitable the climate towards Jews improved.
Â At the end of the War some assistance was extended to Jewish refugees and more Jews came to the country.
Â There are now about 20,000 Jews in Sweden. About 2000 of them know Yiddish which is an indicator of attachment to Jewish Tradition in lieu of religion.
Â At present anti-Semitism and attacks against Jews are increasing. Refugees from the Middle East are nearly always responsible. Remarks by Swedish official and dignitaries are sometimes defensive of the attacks.
Â They seem to imply that the policies of Israel are to blame and that the Jews in Sweden should bear some of the responsible for these.
Â The Swedish population now encompasses about a million Muslims mainly refugees. Another approximate million are foreign born Christians and others from the Middle East area. Together that makes for one in five Swedes to now be of Middle Eastern origin.
Â Much crime against persons and property including public sexual assaults is attributed to these people.
Â Jews also suffer. In the city of Malmo they are attacked and insulted in the street.
Â Native Swedes are usually not personally against Jews though the Government and media are sometimes virulently against Israel.
Â Most Swedes would prefer that the Muslim Middle Eastern refugees leave. Official policy has until recently ignored this. On the contrary they have prepared themselves to accept even more newcomers from Middle eastern areas.

Â Sweden and Israel are trading partners with the balance of trade in Sweden's favor. Cultural ties exist. Swedish students learn at the Hebrew University in Jerusalem. Young Swedish volunteers are also to be found on various projects and working on kibbutzim.
Â A handful of Swedes have successfully converted to Judaism and been accepted.
Â There are also Swedish Christian missionaries in Israel who may intend well but do harm.
Sweden has a long and consistent history of fanatical opposition to the Jewish State.
Â Sweden has been a consistent supporter of the Palestinians against Israel.
Sweden has forbidden slaughter of animals without prior stunning of the animal. This effectively forbids Jewish Kosher slaughter as well apparently as Muslim Halel slaughter. Kosher meat now needs to be imported.
Â Circumcision in Sweden legally requires anaesthesia. The act must be carried out by a medical doctor or an anaesthesia nurse must be present alongside the circumciser.
Â For practical reasons this effectually means Jew have to take their children outside of the country to have them circumcised.
Â These steps may have been taken for genuine concern about the feelings of animals and the welfare of infants.
Â The Swedes do have such do-good busybodies in their society.
Alternately it may be directed mainly against the Muslims and the offence against Jews is collateral damage.
Â Nevertheless in light of the attitude of Sweden historically and its hostility today concerning the State of Israel it could be a deliberately anti-Jewish policy has been inaugurated.
