Leviticus 26:
38 And you shall perish among the nations, and the land of your enemies shall devour you.
Midrash
"And you shall be lost [perish] [va-abadtem] among the nations" , Rabbi Akiva says these are the Ten Tribes who were exiled to Media. Others say "and be lost[perish] [va-abadtem] among the nations", there is no "being lost", other than exile. Could it be that "and be lost [perish] [va-abadtem]" means actually perishing? when it says , and "the land of your enemies shall devour you", then actual loss [perishing] is meant. I maintain that when it says "you shall be lost among the nations", by "be lost" it can only mean exile (Sifra, Bechukotai Deuteronomy 8).

he gathers the outcasts of Israel. These are the [Ten] Tribes, and cast them out to another Land (Deuteronomy 29:28), so too Scripture says,
and they will come who were lost in the land of Assyria (Isaiah 27:13). At that time, there shall be no pain in Israeli that shall not be healed, as it says,
" He heals the broken-hearted" (Psalms 147:3).
