Literal Text from the Hebrew Bible PLUS Rabbinical Sources are Irrefutable!
The Ten Lost Tribes are to be found among Western Peoples. We confirm this with evidence from several different fields of study. The most important proofs and those which all the others depend upon are from the Bible. Our interpretations of the Hebrew Bible are (1) according to the Literal Simple straightforward meaning, and (2) as confirmed by Rabbinical Studies. These 2 are our Two Witnesses. Rabbinical sources both affirm our interpretation of the Literal meaning as well as adding information of their own. See below:
The Bible required Two Witnesses to convict an offender (Numbers 35:30, Deuteronomy 17:6), and or to confirm an agreement, or event.
The Israelites were called upon to bear witness that they had an obligation to the Almighty:
Isaiah (NASB) 43:
10 You are My witnesses, declares the LORD, And My servant whom I have chosen, So that you may know and believe Me And understand that I am He. Before Me there was no God formed, And there will be none after Me.
Isaiah (NASB) 43:
12 It is I who have declared and saved and proclaimed, And there was no strange god among you; So you are My witnesses, declares the LORD, And I am God.
Isaiah (NASB) 44:
8 Do not tremble and do not be afraid; Have I not long since announced it to you and declared it? And you are My witnesses. Is there any God besides Me, Or is there any other Rock? I know of none.
Brit-Am presents Biblical Evidence that the Ten Tribes are in Exile and that they are among Western Nations.
We rely on our understanding of the Hebrew Text at its simple literal level.
That is our FIRST WITNESS!
This should be sufficient. Nevertheless, there are those who will say that Scripture is not to be taken literal, that it is symbolic, or that it could be understood other than we understand it to be.
The Brings us to our SECOND WITNESS. This is Rabbinic Commentary and Explanation.
Our Two Witnesses are:
1. The Hebrew Bible in its Literal Sense.
2. Rabbinical Testimony confirming our interpretation and adding to it.
The Lost Ten Tribes were exiled, lost awareness of their ancestry, remain in exile until now, in the future they will re-unite with Judah.
They will assist Judah to return to the Land and Restore it.
In the End Times the Promised Land of Greater Israel from the Nile to the Euphrates will be re-distributed among the Tribes.
Areas of the West that the Tribes now dwell in will be incorporated in the Land of Israel.
At present the Tribes are called upon to become Biblical Conscious and assist in the Process of Redemption.
This means living good lives and assisting in the spread of being aware of Israelite Ancestry.
Brit-Am is leading the way in this endeavor.
As an example as to how the Two Winesses approach of Brit-Am intertwine, let us glance at our Isaiah ch. 49 and other Biblical Verses in the Light of Early Rabbinical Sources
Song of Solomon (KJV) 1:
16 Behold, thou art fair, my beloved, yea, pleasant: also our bed is green.
The Midrash says:
Israel says, "Behold thou art fair, my beloved" (Song of Solomon 1:16), When you will take retribution from the worshippers of idols. "Yea, pleasant" (ibid), When you pay the reward of those who fear you. "Also our bed," These are the Ten Tribes. [In Hebrew bed is "eres" while the number ten is "eser" and uses the same letters, and our bed (erseynu) sounds like our ten (esereynu).] These are those who were exiled beyond the Sambation River. The exiles of Judah and Benyamin [i.e. the present-day Jews] are destined to go unto them and bring them back in order to merit with them the Messianic Era and life in the World-To-Come. This is as it says, "In those days the house of Judah shall go unto the house of Israel and they shall come together out of the land of the north unto the land that I have given for an inheritance unto your fathers" (Jeremiah 3:18). - Midrash Yalkut Shimeoni, Song of Solomon 905.
The verse (Jeremiah 3:18) should be read according to the above as: THE HOUSE OF JUDAH SHALL GO UNTO [rather than WALK WITH] THE HOUSE OF ISRAEL. People from Judah and Benjamin (i.e. legal Jews) shall go unto the Lost Ten Tribes who are beyond the Sambation River. In our works (Ephraim and the Tribes) we explained that the Sambation River means Israelite Exiles who migrated to the west. The simple meaning is that Jews from Judah will go unto the Lost Tribes to bring them back. Jewish members of Brit-Am is doing this to some degree by fulfilling a preliminary role of informing the Ten Tribes as to who they are, (as well as making this knowledge known to Judah in a format acceptable to them..
The Midrash (Numbers Rabah 1;6, Eichah Rabah 2;9, Jerusalemi Sanhedrin ch.17, L.6,29) adds:
~Rabbi Berachiah and Rabbi Chelbo in the name of Rabbi Shmuel bar Nachman said: To three places was Israel exiled, one to beyond the Sambation River, one to Daphneh of Antiochia, and one to where the Clouds came down and covered them; in the same way that they [i.e. the northern Israelites west of the Jordan River] were exiled to three places, so too were the Tribes [east of the Jordan River] of Reuben, Gad, and half Menasseh, exiled to three places. When they [i.e. the seven Tribes who were west of the Jordan] shall return so too will Reuben, Gad, and half Manasseh return with them. How do we know all this?
~` From the verse, "That You may say to the prisoners, Go forth," (Isaiah 49:9):
These are those exiled beyond the Sambation River.
" To those who are in darkness, Show yourselves" (Isaiah 49:9):
These are those whom the cloud descended upon and covered.
"They shall feed along the roads, And their pastures shall be on all desolate heights" (Isaiah 49:9):
These are those who were exiled to Daphne of Antiochea.~'
"The Tribes of Judah and Benjamin were not exiled to the same place as the Ten Tribes; for the latter were transported beyond the River Sambation," etc. (Midrash Gen. R. 73, Num. R. 26. and Yalkut Gen. 984, Midrash Zuta, Song of Songs 1).
"GO AND PROCLAIM THESE WORDS TOWARD THE NORTH, AND SAY, RETURN, THOU BACKSLIDING ISRAEL, SAITH THE LORD; AND I WILL NOT CAUSE MINE ANGER TO FALL UPON YOU: FOR I AM MERCIFUL, SAITH THE LORD, AND I WILL NOT KEEP ANGER FOR EVER".
" IN THOSE DAYS THE HOUSE OF JUDAH SHALL WALK WITH THE HOUSE OF ISRAEL, AND THEY SHALL COME TOGETHER OUT OF THE LAND OF THE NORTH TO THE LAND THAT I HAVE GIVEN FOR AN INHERITANCE UNTO YOUR FATHERS".
Let us have a quick look at Isaiah chapter 49.
Isaiah (KJV) 49:
1 Listen, O isles, unto me; and hearken, ye people, from far; The LORD hath called me from the womb; from the bowels of my mother hath he made mention of my name.
2 And he hath made my mouth like a sharp sword; in the shadow of his hand hath he hid me, and made me a polished shaft; in his quiver hath he hid me;
3 And said unto me, Thou art my servant, O Israel, in whom I will be glorified.
4 Then I said, I have laboured in vain, I have spent my strength for nought, and in vain: yet surely my judgment is with the LORD, and my work with my God.
5 And now, saith the LORD that formed me from the womb to be his servant, to bring Jacob again to him, Though Israel be not gathered, yet shall I be glorious in the eyes of the LORD, and my God shall be my strength.
6 And he said, It is a light thing that thou shouldest be my servant to raise up the Tribes of Jacob, and to restore the Preserved of Israel: I will also give thee for a light to the Gentiles, that thou mayest be my salvation unto the end of the earth.
Isaiah 49:7 is an aside (as if in Parentheses) referring to Judah after which in Isaiah 49:8 the Propeht returns to speak of the Lost Ten Tribes.
7 Thus saith the LORD, the Redeemer of Israel, and his Holy One, to him whom man despiseth, to him whom the nation abhorreth, to a servant of rulers, Kings shall see and arise, princes also shall worship, because of the LORD that is faithful, and the Holy One of Israel, and he shall choose thee.
After speaking of Judah in Isaiah 49:7, he reutrns to speak of the Lost Ten Tribes.
8 Thus saith the LORD, In an acceptable time have I heard thee, and in a day of salvation have I helped thee: and I will preserve thee, and give thee for a Covenant of the people [Hebrew: "Brit-Am"], to establish the earth, to cause to inherit the desolate heritages;
9 That thou mayest say to the prisoners, Go forth; to them that are in darkness, Shew yourselves. They shall feed in the ways, and their pastures shall be in all high places.
10 They shall not hunger nor thirst; neither shall the heat nor sun smite them: for he that hath mercy on them shall lead them, even by the springs of water shall he guide them.
11 And I will make all my mountains a way, and my highways shall be exalted.
12 Behold, these shall come from far: and, lo, these from the north and from the west; and these from the land of Sinim.
13 Sing, O heavens; and be joyful, O earth; and break forth into singing, O mountains: for the LORD hath comforted his people, and will have mercy upon his afflicted.
We saw that the Midrash linked Isiaha 49:9 with the Lost Ten Tribes. Our understanding is that Isaiah 49:1-13 is speaking primarily about the Ten Tribes, apart from 49:7 that may be an aside referring to Judah. This is similar to Isaiah ch.53.
"The Tribes of Jacob" (recalled in ISAIAH 49:6) remind one that the flag of Britain is called the UNION JACK (i.e. union or Covenant of Jacob) and the nickname "YANKEE" for North American is derivable from a Hebrew form of ther name "Jacob."
"A light to the Gentiles" (Isaiah 49:6) is what the British descended peoples and West European and North American peoples comparatively speaking have been despite frequent moral mistakes. On the whole these nations have been the best civilizing influence the world has ever known and (through America) they still are despite everything!
"End of the earth" (cf. 49:6), and "ends of the earth" is a frequent expression in the Prophets concerning the Lost Ten Tribes. Most of the peoples identified as descended from the Ten Tribes dwell at the geographical extremities of Continental masses when the Biblical view of the Holy Land of Israel as the center is taken into account.
A Brit-Am (49:8) or Covenant of the People reminds us of Britain and the Commonbwealth. IN Medieval times Britain was sometimes referred to as "Britammia."
Isaiah 49:9 is referring to the Three Sections of Israelites from the Lost Ten Tribes as shown in the Midrash cited above. The Lost Tribes will be to the North and West of the Land of Israel (49:12) and also in the Land of Sinim. The Land of Sinim (49:12) refers to the "Land of the South" (Onkelos) meaning Australia and New Zealand. The word "Australia" in Latin means "Land of the South."
From 49:14 on the emphasis is on Judah.
Isaiah (KJV) 49:
14 But Zion said, The LORD hath forsaken me, and my LORD hath forgotten me.
Judah will think at the times that the Almighty has fogotten him. God however has not forgotten.
15 Can a woman forget her sucking child, that she should not have compassion on the son of her womb? yea, they may forget, yet will I not forget thee.
16 Behold, I have graven thee upon the palms of my hands; thy walls are continually before me.
17 Thy children shall make haste; thy destroyers and they that made thee waste shall go forth of thee.
18 Lift up thine eyes round about, and behold: all these gather themselves together, and come to thee. As I live, saith the LORD, thou shalt surely clothe thee with them all, as with an ornament, and bind them on thee, as a bride doeth.
19 For thy waste and thy desolate places, and the land of thy destruction, shall even now be too narrow by reason of the inhabitants, and they that swallowed thee up shall be far away.
20 The children which thou shalt have, after thou hast lost the other, shall say again in thine ears, The place is too strait for me: give place to me that I may dwell.
21 Then shalt thou say in thine heart, Who hath begotten me these, seeing I have lost my children, and am desolate, a captive, and removing to and fro? and who hath brought up these? Behold, I was left alone; these, where had they been?
22 Thus saith the LORD God, Behold, I will lift up mine hand to the Gentiles [Hebrew: "Goyim" i.e. nations], and set up my standard to the people[s] [Hebrew: "Amim" i.e. peoples]: and they shall bring thy sons in their arms, and thy daughters shall be carried upon their shoulders.
23 And kings shall be thy nursing fathers, and their queens thy nursing mothers: they shall bow down to thee with their face toward the earth, and lick up the dust of thy feet; and thou shalt know that I am the LORD: for they shall not be ashamed that wait for me.
24 Shall the prey be taken from the mighty, or the lawful captive delivered?
25 But thus saith the LORD, Even the captives of the mighty shall be taken away, and the prey of the terrible shall be delivered: for I will contend with him that contendeth with thee, and I will save thy children.
26 And I will feed them that oppress thee with their own flesh; and they shall be drunken with their own blood, as with sweet wine: and all flesh shall know that I the LORD am thy Saviour and thy Redeemer, the Mighty One of Jacob.
Concerning the Lost Ten Tribes, Isaiah 49 is saying: The Isles are called upon to listen to God (49:1). Israel is the servant of God (49:3). Israel will raise up the Tribes of Jacob and restore the preserved of Israel, to be an enlightening influence on the Gentiles unto the geographical extremities of the earth (49:6). God calls to the Jews who were despised and says HE will save them (49:7). The Ten Tribes will be made into a Brit-Am or "Covenant of Peoples. "They will settle and civilize wasted heritages (49:8) and free the prisoners while converging together along their paths of migration (49:9). Judah will be consoled (49:13-16). Much of the troubles of Judah were caused by her own wayward sons (49:17). Judah will be compensated greatly (49:18-20). When the Lost Ten Tribes return Judah will be reticent about receiving them. The Jews will ask where were all those now identified as Israel when the Jews needed help and were alone? According to the Midrash (Pesikta Rabati 32;10) this reaction of the Jews will indeed take place WHEN THEY SEE THE THREE EXILES OF THE LOST TEN TRIBES RETURNING! (49:21). Judah will be elevated and her former oppressors will come bowing down to her (49:22-26).
