1. DRUIDS and TREES and Hebraic Terms.
The term 'Druid' originates from 'dru,' a Celtic word meaning 'oak,' and 'wid,' an Indo-European word meaning 'to know.' A druid, therefore, is a 'knower of the oak,' also known as a forest sage.
=========
The term "Druid" is cognate with Old Irish dru.. 'druid, sorcerer', Old Cornish druw, Middle Welsh dryw 'seer; wren'....a hypothetical word from pre-Celtic times is often given as *dru-wid-s (pl. *druwides) meaning "oak-knower".
OxfordLanguages
Druid (n.)... literally, perhaps, "they who know the oak" (perhaps in allusion to divination from mistletoe). Anglo-Saxon, too, used identical words to mean "tree" and "truth" (treow).
=========
The article below indicates a possible Hebrew connection to the Druids. It follows on two previous articles giving more information.
Etymologically we have the Hebrew word "DAAT" meaning "Knowledge." The Hebrew word when pronounced in a European setting could sound like "DAR."
We have the Tree of Knowledge. i..e. "Aets (Tree)- HaDaat (of Knowledge)"
Genesis (NASB) 2:
9 Out of the ground the LORD God caused every tree to grow that is pleasing to the sight and good for food; the tree of life was also in the midst of the garden, and the tree of the knowledge of good and evil.
Just like Celtic and Anglo-Saxon usage the word for tree, "aets" also connotes "advice, consideration."
Concerning the word root Rabbi Shimshon Rafael Hirsch as explained in the "Etymological Dictionary of Biblical Hebrew" by "Matityahu Clark," made the following notes:
# OOTS (i.e. aets).
1. advising, developing p[alns....
2. tree developing upwards.
.. concentrate, force upward, deliberate, penetrate.
We see that in Hebrew the word for tree is associated with knowledge and knowing like as in Celtic and Anglo-Saxon!

2. Druids and Levites, and Danites from the Dananu.
We trace the Druids to two sources:
1. The Priests Jeroboam son of Nebat instituted among the Ten Tribes to replace the Levites.
1-Kings 12:
31 He made shrines on the high places, and made priests from every class of people, who were not of the sons of Levi.
2. Descendants of an offshoot of the Levites who became a people in their own right and settled among the Ten Tribes especially those of the British Isles, possibly in Wales, and Ireland.
These are commonly referred to as "The Children of Moses."
3. Possibly related to no.2 above but not necessarily so. The Children of Dan (Judges ch. 18) who went north to Laish of Cilicia took with them a Levite named Jonathan. They had virtually abducted this Levite when they moved northward from the Estate of Micah near Shiloh.
In Laish of the Dananu Jonathan founded a ruling dynasty known as MOXUS, i.e. Moses, and in Greek Mythology referred to as Mopsus.
Wikipedia: "A historical or legendary Mopsos or Muksu, may have been the founder of a house in power at widespread sites in the coastal plains of Pamphylia and Cilicia (in today's Turkey) during the early Iron Age."
# The Christian chronicler Eusebius of Caesarea was as convinced of Mopsus' historicity as his pagan predecessors and contemporaries: in his parallel chronologies he entered under the year corresponding to 1184/83 Mopsus reigned in Cilicia. In the early 16th century, German chronicler Johannes Aventinus placed him in the reign of Ingaevone, in ca. 22nd century BC, along the Sava River [a tributary of the Danube in southeast Europe] , where, allegedly, he defeated Myrine.[
# Names similar to Mopsos, whether Greek or Anatolian, are also attested in Near Eastern languages. Since the discovery of a bilingual Hieroglyphic Luwian-Phoenician inscription in Karatepe (in Cilicia) in 1946-7, it has been conjectured that Mopsos was a historical person. The inscription is dated to c. 700 BC, and the person speaking in it... professes to be king of the d-n-n-y-m [DANANU]/ Hiyawa, and describes his dynasty as "the house of M-p-s / Muksa". Apparently, he is a descendant of Mopsus.
.... The Phoenician name of the people recalls one of the Homeric names of the Greeks, Danaoi .... which is, according to most interpretations, the "Achaean", or Mycenaean Greek, settlement in Asia Minor. Ancient Greek authors ascribe a central role to Mopsus in the colonization of Pamphylia [southwest Turkey, west of Cilicia]..
The people of Dananu and of neighboring Yadi (an enclave of Judah) are recorded in Assyrian Inscriptions as having been conquered and exiled at the same time as it happened further south to the rest of the Hebrews.

3. More concerning the "Druids." Sources.
Dictionary of the Irish Language defines dru.. (which has numerous variant forms, including draoi) as 'magician, wizard or diviner'.In the literature the druids cast spells and turn people into animals or stones, or curse peoples' crops to be blighted.
Wikipedia:
A druid was a member of the high-ranking priestly class in ancient Celtic cultures. Druids were religious leaders as well as legal authorities, adjudicators, lorekeepers, medical professionals and political advisors. Druids left no written accounts. While they were reported to have been literate, they are believed to have been prevented by doctrine from recording their knowledge in written form. Their beliefs and practices are attested in some detail by their contemporaries from other cultures, such as the Romans and the Greeks.
Julius Caesar wrote that they were one of the two most important social groups in the region (alongside the equites, or nobles) and were responsible for organizing worship and sacrifices, divination, and judicial procedure in Gallic, British, and Irish societies. He wrote that they were exempt from military service and from paying taxes, and had the power to excommunicate people from religious festivals, making them social outcasts.
Alexander Cornelius Polyhistor referred to the druids as philosophers and called their doctrine of the immortality of the soul and reincarnation or metempsychosis, "Pythagorean":
The Pythagorean doctrine prevails among the Gauls' teaching that the souls of men are immortal, and that after a fixed number of years they will enter into another body
Caesar made similar observations:
# With regard to their actual course of studies, the main object of all education is, in their opinion, to imbue their scholars with a firm belief in the indestructibility of the human soul, which, according to their belief, merely passes at death from one tenement to another; for by such doctrine alone, they say, which robs death of all its terrors, can the highest form of human courage be developed. Subsidiary to the teachings of this main principle, they hold various lectures and discussions on the stars and their movement, on the extent and geographical distribution of the earth, on the different branches of natural philosophy, and on many problems connected with religion.#
- Julius Caesar, De Bello Gallico, VI, 14
Some say that the study of philosophy originated with the barbarians. In that among the Persians there existed the Magi, and among the Babylonians or Assyrians the Chaldaei, among the Indians the Gymnosophistae, and among the Celts and Gauls men who were called druids and semnothei, as Aristotle relates in his book on magic, and Sotion in the twenty-third book of his Succession of Philosophers.

Other traditions of apparent JEWISH ORIGIN derived through Arab intermediaries relate a similar tale. These other versions state that the CHILDREN OF MOSES were in the far west in "Djabarka" (i.e. "The Golden Castle"), in the "Islands of the Happy", dwelling in a town wherein the remnants of AD (i.e. the Ten Trbies) were also to be found.
