1. Meeting with Visitor from the Netherlands, R. Observations of Interest.
Yair Davidiy met up with R. who is visiting from the Netherlands.
R. tolds us that he himself comes from a very religious traditional Christian family whose members dress like Jews and keep Sunday in a similar way to how Orthodox Jews observe the Sabbath. He himself now tries to observe the Sabbath.
He sees that amongst Christians in the Netherlands there is a great increase in Hebrew Roots type consciousness.
Many also believe that they are descended from the Tribes of Israel especially Zebulon.
R. hails from Sliedrecht in southern Holland.
Sliedrecht is also the site of the Nationaal Baggermuseum (National Dredging Museum) - featuring dredging and salvage,
in other words digging out sand from the canals and dams etc.
R. says this is especially significant for him since the blessings to Zebulon included living on the shores of the sea and treasures of the sand.
Genesis 49:
13Â ZEBULUN SHALL DWELL ON THE SHORES OF THE SEA; AND HE SHALL BE FOR AN HAVEN OF SHIPS; AND HIS BORDER SHALL BE UNTO ZIDON".
