Extracts:
The answer below contains examples of Rabbinical Exegesis. It is to be considered as learned opinion rather than doctrine.
The Rabbis were critical of Jews who informed Gentiles about such learning since the Gentiles often misused, misunderstood, and misquoted such sources.
We allow ourselves a little leeway in such matters since the times have changed and the circumstances are different.
a. There is a source.
b. It does make sense to people who study such matters very deeply.
It may be that H. W. Armstrong or one of his assistants had come across the above source in English Translation or an opinion based on it.
Jeroboam did apparently change the date of Succoth making it a month later. He may also have changed the Sabbath Day.

3. Questions from Robert Smith
Robert Smith wrote:
Hi Yair,
Â
1.      Many years ago I read HW Armstrong's book A&B in Prophecy. He stated there was evidence that Jeroboam changed the Sabbath from Saturday to Sunday. In my years of research I have not come across any evidence of this. Have you uncovered any evidence of this?
2.      In Scripture, Shem has a son named Asshur and Jacob has a son named Asher. Are they the same name or have similar meanings?
Â
I have a friend named Sweda (= People of Ishvi) , who based on your website means he is from the Ishvi , pronounced svwee, clan of the tribe Asher. After discussing with him the meaning of his name it was a perfect fit. His family were miners for hundreds of years, he is in perfect health at age 72, and is a very low key, but happy person. He was thrilled to learn his tribal entity.

(1. Concerning Sunday.
See the article,
Sunday and Israel.

(2. The Names of ASHER
There are three similarly sounding names:Â "Asher (son of Jacob), Ashur (the heathen nation from a son of Shem), and the Ashurites (Genesis 25:3). The Ashurites were descended from Dedan son of Yakshan son of Abraham through his concubine Keturah (Genesis 25:1).
These are all separate entities BUT it sometimes happens that groups with similar names make contact and even merge together.
As for Ishvi of Asher. We showed in The Tribes how these names were repeated amongst the Vandals.
We also showed how many of the Vandals moved directly to Northern England (and Lowland Scotland) as part of the Anglo-Saxon invasions. Other Vandals moved through Europe into North Africa and from there also moved to the British Isles.
Recently we have become aware of the possibility that many from Asher also became part of the Swedish people.
Steven Philips reached this conclusion before us and in this case may be correct.
