1. Snow Storm in Jerusalem
The region of Israel has just been through a serious storm. It lasted from Thursday evening through Friday and the Shabat. Four people were killed. These included two Beduin youths, a Jewish resident of Rishon leTsion who fell off his roof while trying to fix a leak, and an infant accidentally killed by heater.
Jerusalem received 40 to 60 centimeters (ca. 16 to 24 inches) of snow. It has been described as the worst storm in the history of Israel. Weather forecasts predicted it but underestimated its severity. The authorities were not sufficiently prepared. Many neighborhoods in Jerusalem were cut off without electricity. Numerous trees fell down. Supplies of bread, fresh milk, and newspapers etc did not reach many parts of the city. Traffic ceased, movement was difficult.
In our own area of the Brit-Am headquarters matters were relatively better. It was however not easy to move around outside.
In Israel due to the Shabbat many families do their main shopping on Friday.
In our neighborhood most of the local shops were closed. A supermarket opened but apparently only one cashier arrived for work. This resulted in a very long line of customers with full shopping carts.
The prospect of joining this queue did not appeal to us so we made do with what we already had.
Outside of Jerusalem some areas were hit even worse.
The settlement of Shiloh for instance had its telephone and electricity lines cut by the storm. Snow levels were even higher than those of Jerusalem. Without electricity the batteries in cellphones cannot be recharged so communication with the outside world ceased. On top of this water in the pipes froze so there was no water either.
Perhaps everyone will learn something from this and in the future be better prepared for such contingencies.

(a) Amish Man Discovers Jewish Ancestry
------------------------
Peace Yair.
Well, that makes a lot of Amish partly Jewish.
From what I know about them, in the 1700s there were only 500 starters of
their today 6-700,000 strong community...

3. Letter from Chuck Calahan about Nial, DNA, and Tea Tephi with Brit-Am Reply.
Charles Calahan wrote:
In regards to Daniel Duffields statements regarding Niall Mor " Niall of the nine hostages " ! O'Hart's Irish Pedigrees Vol. 1., page 709 is quite informative . Duffied and I am of the line of Heremon and Tea Tephi . I too have had my DNA report that verifies my own genealogy research connection with every generation from myself to Heremon ( Eremon ) . Heremon married Tea Tephi daughter of King Zedekiah . O'Hart's lineage is accurate but his time of the early Milesian conquest is overextended . He got his information from the ' four masters ' who did not realize the extent in which there were two and sometimes more brothers claiming The Monarchy of Ireland . Heremon and his brothers invaded Ireland sometime between 578 B.C. and 600 B.C.. Not as O'Hart declares a year after Solomon began building the temple . O'Hart realizes the importance of the Scythian connection but he has no idea the Scythians and Parthians were of the Ten Lost tribes of Israel . Milesius of Spain father of Heremon , Heber , Amergin , and Ir , was a Scythian prince who married an Egyptian princess Scota . ( Cpt. Chuck Calahan USA/Ret . )

Brit-Am Reply:
I too, according to DNA am descended from Nial or one of his close ancestors. [I am Jewish through my mother.] Nial probably was a real person. According to DNA (if we believe them) there was someone around between 2000 to 1500 who had a mutation that enables his DNA to be particularized and traced. This person begat Tribes that did not pay tribute alongside many local chieftains and ruling kings of Ireland for centuries. Today a few million males may be traced to him.
Quite an achievement and one that is unequalled.
Unless the DNA wonder boys have made a mistake somewhere?
It is hard to see how they could have but we should not let the wonders of modern science surprise us.
Who knows what revolutions in how we see the world are still in store?
Is there a link between DNA changes and sunspot activity?
What about the potato?
The existence of Tea Tephi however appears to be based on a reconstruction of the texts by British Israel enthusiasts.
The Stone of Scone may indeed be that mentioned in the Bible (Genesis 49:24, see S.R. Hirsch on this text and perhaps the next posting of Brit-Am Now )
