The Israelites under Joshua moved their camp from Shittim to the bank of the Jordan River. At that time the Jordan was much greater in size than it later became. In addition to climate change from the past, in modern times the Jordan has been further greatly diminished due to most of its water flow being utilized for irrigation purposes by the Israelis and Jordanians. The Israelites had officers or shotrim (singular, "shoter") placed over them. In Modern Hebrew this word "shoter" means policeman. Three days after they came to the Jordan bank the officers passed through the camp and told the people that when they saw the Ark of the Covenant carried by the Priests (Cohanim) from the Tribe of Levi moving out then they should follow after it. They were to keep a distance however between themselves and the Ark of 2000 cubits or ca. 750 meters. The People were also told to purify themselves by ritual immersion in a pool or spring of water. This was in preparation for the great miracle they were to experience the day after. The next day, Joshua then gave an order for the Priests to take up the Ark and pass before the people. At that time the Jordan was in full flow and overflowing its brinks. As soon as the feet of the Priests bearing the Ark stepped into the water the river split in two. The people passed over on the dry ground. All this while the Priests with the Ark remained standing in the dry riverbed.

Proverbs 17: 11 Evil people seek only rebellion, but a cruel messenger will be sent against them.

Mestudat David: They who speak only badly about God, seek a bad end for themself in this world.
Rashi says that someone of a contrary nature and habit will constantly seek out the bad aspects. They will always look for opportunities to do evil or find the bad in others.

Ephraim (Genesis 48) was leader of the Ephraimites, the most warlike of the twelve tribes of Israel. Their land was bordered on the east by the Jordan River, on the west by the Mediterranean Sea. This can happen. It may be that we have been helped by others and did not appreciate it at the time. Later circumstances change and we react in a misguided manner towards those we should have been grateful towards. We should keep our eyes open, be aware of what is happening and act as we feel God would want us to.

5. Hebrew Nations: Present Intentions
At present we are going through a financial crisis the outcome of which is unknown and could lead us almost anywhere. Assuming that (God willing) we are enabled to continue along the lines we have been, we intend the following:
Continuation of Present Activities: Sending out email postings, answering queries, updating research notes, following informational leads, new articles and YouTube clips, selling books, etc.
Putting the Final Polishes to "Hebrew Ancestry". This is important and the work is well worthwhile.
Intensified Renewed Study of Scripture and where necessary related sources. We intend to go back through the Bible as thoroughly as we can with an emphasis on Brit-Am matters.

The above list is more or less in order of priority but this does not mean that we will first do one thing then the other. There may be a certain degree of overlap with the different projects being carried on parallel to each other.
