Colonel Richard Kemp (Former British Armed Forces Commander in Afghanistan and Senior Expert in the Wart Against Terror) has testified that during the Gaza War (Operation Cast Lead) the Israeli Defence Forces did more to safeguard the rights of civilians in a combat zone than any other army in the history of warfare. The Pillar of Cloud Campaign is no exception. If anything the care to avoid unnecessary harm to civilians has been intensified.

2. This is what the Enemy Believes: The Hamas Charter
The Hamas Charter (or Covenant), issued in 1988, outlined the organization's position on many issues at the time, identifies Hamas as the Muslim Brotherhood in Palestine and declares its members to be Muslims who "fear God and raise the banner of Jihad in the face of the oppressors." The charter states "our struggle against the Jews is very great and very serious" and calls for the eventual creation of an Islamic state in Palestine, in place of Israel and the Palestinian Territories,[36] and the obliteration or dissolution of Israel.[71][72] The Charter also asserts that through shrewd manipulation of imperial countries and secret societies, Zionists were behind a wide range of events and disasters going as far back in history as the French Revolution. Among the charter's controversial statements is the following: "The time will not come until Muslims will fight the Jews [and kill them]; until the Jews hide behind rocks and trees, which will cry: Oh Muslim! There is a Jew hiding behind me, come on and kill him!"[35] The document also quotes Islamic religious texts to provide justification for fighting against and killing the Jews of Israel,[73] presenting the Arab-Israeli conflict as an inherently irreconcilable struggle between Jews and Muslims, and Judaism and Islam,[35] adding that the only way to engage in this struggle between "truth and falsehood" is through Islam and by means of jihad, until victory or martyrdom.[35] The Charter adds that "renouncing any part of Palestine means renouncing part of the religion" of Islam.[74] The charter states that Hamas is humanistic, and tolerant of other religions as long as they do not block Hamas's efforts.[75]

3. The Vatican on Gaza: "Israel is a Baby-Killer"
By Giulio Meotti, Italy
First Publish: 11/21/2012, 11:45 PM
Extracts:
Cardinal Gianfranco Ravasi, President of the Vatican Council for Culture, commenting on the war between Israel and Hamas, delivered a severe attack on the Jewish people: 'I think of the 'massacre of the innocents'. Children are dying in Gaza, their mothers' shouts is a perennial cry, a universal cry'.
The Vatican official's modern blood libel against Israel was delivered during the presentation of Pope Benedict's new book about the life of Jesus. However, Ravasi's theme ' the Jews as Herod, who killed all the innocent babies because his heart was set on killing Jesus' was much beloved by Medieval organizers of pogroms.
As yet, no condemnation has come from the Pope of the barrages of rockets fired by terror groups on southern Israeli cities before Operation Pillar of Defense. The Church authorities, and Benedict XVI himself, raised their voices in condemnation of the violence that has broken out in the Gaza Strip only after Israel began bombing the installations of the terrorist movements in that territory. Not a word was heard before that.
During the Cast Lead operation in 2009, the Vatican officials called Gaza "a concentration camp". After the Nazi comparison did its work, the Jesus-killer motif has now returned to the Catholic Church.

4. Harmful Bacteria Found in Samples of U.S. Pork
By Denise Mann
WebMD Health News
Reviewed by Louise Chang, MD
Extracts:
Nov. 28, 2012 -- Many pork chops and ground pork products in the U.S. may be tainted with antibiotic-resistant bacteria, including one that the USDA does not look for, a Consumer Reports study shows.
The new report also found traces of a drug that is banned in several countries.
But trade groups representing the pork lobby say the new findings overstate the risks associated with tainted pork, and attest to its safety when prepared properly.
According to the study, 69% of pork chops and ground pork samples tested positive for Yersinia enterocolitica, a bug known to cause infections in about 100,000 Americans a year, especially kids. Other bacteria found in pork samples included enterococcus, staph, salmonella, and listeria. Twenty-three percent had none of the bacteria that was tested for. Some of the bacteria seen in the pork samples were resistant to antibiotics.
In addition, researchers found low levels of the drug ractopamine in about one-fifth of 240 additional pork products. This drug is used to promote lean muscle growth in pigs. It is approved for use in the U.S. and some other countries, but banned elsewhere due to safety concerns. Similar drugs may cause restlessness, anxiety, and a quickened heart rate.
The report will appear in the January 2013 issue of Consumer Reports.
Contamination can happen easily in mere seconds. "If you were just a bit careless in the kitchen and drippings from a pork chop get on your lettuce in the refrigerator, or you forgot to wash the knife between cutting meat and salad greens, you could get sick and it would be harder to treat the infection because of its resistance to antibiotics."

5. Hezbollah says it would hit Tel Aviv in future war
By BASSEM MROUE | Associated PressÂ
Extracts:
BEIRUT (AP) Â Lebanon's Hezbollah group would fire thousands of rockets into Israel in any future war and target cities in the country's heartland, the group's leader said Sunday.
Sheik Hassan Nasrallah's warning came days after an eight-day Israeli offensive against Gaza ended with a truce. Nasrallah said Gaza militants had won "a clear victory" against Israel with their rocket bombardment.
Hezbollah, like Hamas and other Gaza militant factions, maintains a rocket arsenal and regularly threatens to use it. It fought an inconclusive 34-day war with the Jewish state in 2006 that left 1,200 Lebanese and 160 Israelis dead.
The Gaza war marked the first use by Palestinian factions of a longer ranged Iranian-made rocket, the Fajr-5. It caused no casualties but did trigger air raid warnings in the heartland cities of Tel Aviv and Jerusalem, which, unlike cities closer to the Lebanese and Gaza borders, have not experienced any sustained missile attack since Iraqi Scuds were fired in the 1991 Gulf War.
Hezbollah fired at least one long-range rocket ineffectually in the 2006 war. But Israeli intelligence now believes the militant group has the capability to strike anywhere in the country, although Israel now deploys air defense systems designed to counter the threat.
In the Gaza conflict, Israeli aircraft launched some 1,500 strikes on targets linked to the Palestinian territory's Hamas rulers and other groups, while Gaza militants fired roughly the same number of rockets into Israel.
Hezbollah fired nearly 4,000 rockets at Israel during the 2006 war and is believed to have upgraded its arsenal since then. Nasrallah did not say how many missiles and rockets his group possesses, although in the past he said they have more than 20,000. Israel estimates the number at several times that.
"The battle with us is going to be all over occupied Palestine," the black-turbaned Nasrallah said. "From the border with Lebanon to the frontier with Jordan to the Red Sea."
"The Israelis should listen well to me. From Kiryat Shemona to Eilat," Nasrallah said referring to a northern Israeli town near the border with Lebanon to the southern resort town of Eilat on the Red Sea.

6. New York Times: 90% of Vote Went to Romney in Some Orthodox Jewish Communities
November 25, 2012 3:46
Author: Zach Pontz
Extracts:
The New York Times published a map Saturday of precinct-by-precinct voting results from the recent presidential election. There were few surprises, the city resoundingly backed President Obama. Where this support wavered was in communities with large Orthodox Jewish populations.
'Mr. Obama'worst precincts were in Orthodox Jewish areas like Ocean Parkway and Williamsburg in Brooklyn and Kew Gardens Hills in Queens. In a few precincts in Borough Park, Brooklyn, Mr. Romney won more than 90 percent of the vote,' the accompanying text said.
The results were similar to those in the 2008 election which pitted Obama against John McCain. But Orthodox populations continue to grow, whereas more liberal Jewish communities that back Obama continue to diminish. According to The New York Times 40 percent of Jews in the city identify themselves as Orthodox, an increase from 33 percent in 2002; 74 percent of all Jewish children in the city are Orthodox. Reform and Conservative movements each lost about 40,000 members between 2002 and 2011.
'The community is cetainly proving it is one to be reckoned with,' says Friedlander.

7. Arab Female Terrorists are Sexually ABUSED AND ABUSIVE.
Foreword: Understanding Female Suicide Bombers
by Daniel Pipes
The Smarter Bomb, Women and Children as Suicide Bombers
October 2012
Extracts:
Anat Berko has spent the past fifteen years in jails interviewing terrorists, giving her peerless authority on this subject among academic researchers; and no one has shown so great an ability as she to get interviewees to express themselves. The results, published in a series of studies on personalities, circumstances, and motives, has opened a hitherto mysterious topic to public scrutiny.
The strictures on sex that dominate a woman's life have deep implications for women's engagement in terrorism: Ch. 7 shows that women dream of "that thing" (i.e., sex) ceaselessly in paradise. Chs. 8 and 15 establish the pattern of women going on terrorist missions after having had sexual relations with their dispatchers. Ch. 11 demonstrates the remarkable fact that "a significant number [of Palestinian women] preferred an Israeli jail to their own homes" because of maltreatment by relatives; indeed, some of them pretend to attack Israelis so as to go to jail and leave their miserable home lives. Ch. 14 points to the recurring opportunity for women to escape sexual dishonor through violence.
The tension between admiration for a woman who foregoes her life and the suspicion that her self-sacrifice involved some form of sexual guilt. As a Palestinian journalist put it, when a woman carries out a terrorist attack, others joke that "She blew up masturbating. Â 'She didn't get enough sex. ' She wasn't satisfied."
In other cases, female prisoners purposefully seek out jail as a safe haven to escape forced marriages, accusations of improper behavior, or domestic violence. To reach jail, they stab soldiers, wave knives in the air, or throw acid toward an Israeli soldier.
Terrorists see Israelis as less than human but after spending time in Israeli jails, where prisoners (as one put it) "give respect and are respected," they often develop improved attitudes: "the Jews take better care of me than us [Arabs]."
To a surprising extent, female terrorists engage in violence to associate closely with men to whom they are physically attracted. As a defense lawyer put it, "I never met a single woman who was motivated by ideology - every woman involved in terrorism is a romantiic."
For these reasons, Dr. Berko finds that "a significant number" of female prisoners prefer remaining in an Israeli jail to returning to their own homes. As one put it, "I would rather be in jail, they help me here."
Prisoners generally come from broken families or families lacking a strong, protective male.
The whole notion of women waging war and going to prison upsets Palestinian concepts of order. In the illustrative words of the deputy head of Hamas, "If a woman is in jail for a long time she will become a man" (meaning, they get wrong-headed ideas of independence).
Accordingly, Palestinians keep their distance from female security prisoners: "She's a heroine, but I would never let my son or brother marry a woman like that."
Finally, Dr. Berko's study hints at counterterrorism tactics. For example, the deep sensitivity about the naked female body being viewed, even in death, even blown up into many parts ("If a woman blows herself up all her flesh will be seen, and that leads to a very difficult situation"), suggests that the Israeli and other authorities can deter female Muslim suicide bombers by distributing pictures of their naked remains, and especially their sexual parts. (The same tactic, to a lesser degree, might also be useful vis-a -vis male Muslim terrorists)
