British warplanes are carrying out reconnaissance flights over the Gaza Strip as part of efforts to find Israeli hostages, the British newspaper The Times reported, citing senior British government sources.
According to the publication, the Royal Air Force is carrying out large-scale reconnaissance missions to uncover new leads on the possible whereabouts of the abducted citizens. According to sources, the data collected in real time is promptly transmitted to Israel.
Although the UK Ministry of Defence has not revealed which aircraft are involved, air traffic data indicates heavy use of Shadow R1 surveillance aircraft. Equipped with sophisticated electro-optical sensors, these aircraft are capable of tracking convoys of vehicles, streets, residential areas and even specific buildings with high accuracy.
The jets reportedly took off from a British airbase in Cyprus and have carried out hundreds of missions over Gaza in recent months, while Israels Defense Ministry confirmed that British military flights were still ongoing in the region. One RAF source said the Shadows may have returned to the UK, but the missions are likely to have been handed over to other types of surveillance platforms.

4. Almost 9 in 10 aid trucks looted before reaching Gaza destinations, UN figures show

Almost nine out of every 10 UN trucks that entered Gaza with humanitarian aid over the last several months were looted - either by hungry Gazans or by armed groups, before reaching their destination, according to United Nations statistics.
Israel denies any policy to deprive Gazans of food and blames the UN and other groups on the ground for failing to effectively distribute the aid that's entered the Strip.
Israel says that Hamas steals supplies from deliveries by the UN and international aid groups. The US- and Israel-backed Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF), established to provide aid via an alternative that would keep goods out of Hamas's hands, has been plagued by near-daily shooting incidents that have seen hundreds killed as they try to reach the GHF distribution centers.
Israe announced last week steps to let more aid reach Gaza, including pausing fighting for part of the day in some areas, approving air drops by foreign nations, and announcing protected routes for aid convoys.

Palestinian Authority leader Mahmoud Abbas personally "thanked Saudi Arabia and its leadership for the generous grant they provided this year to 1,000 Palestinian pilgrims from among the families of the Martyrs, the prisoners, and the wounded," according to a June 9 report by the Ramallah government-run PA TV News.
The relatives of "martyrs, prisoners, and wounded," meaning dead, imprisoned, and wounded terrorists - were flown to Mecca for the Hajj pilgrimage, free of charge, by the Saudi monarch.
The gesture constitutes a sign of "loyalty" to the terrorists, and a commitment to "constant sponsorship and honoring" vis-a-vis their families, PA TV reported.
