1, Jewish Refugees  in WW2.
There were about 70,000 (80,000) Jewish refugees who were accepted into Britain by the start of World War II on 1 September 1939, and an additional 10,000 people who made it to Britain during the war.
More than 6,000 made it to British Dominions.

The German Jews who remained, about 163,000 in Germany and less than 57,000 from annexed Austria, were mostly elderly, and were murdered in ghettos or taken to Nazi concentration camps, where most of them also died.[2] Although Jews could easily leave Germany initially, it was difficult to find countries in which they could live, particularly after accepting the initial wave of immigrants in Europe, Britain, and the United States.
There were more than 500,000 case files, though, of Jews who were not admitted according to British Jewish associations.

Britain did not allow Jews to immigrate to Palestine, which was under British control at that time. Even so, there were some Jews who illegally immigrated (Aliyah Bet) to Palestine.

The Government created a scheme whereby a Guarantor bought a Guarantee for #50 to ensure the person for whom the guarantee was given would not become a financial burden for the British Government.
This was a practice of the Jewish community to help Jews escape and Quakers saved an estimated 6,000 Jews with guarantees.

Jewish relatives of Yair Davidiy in Germany and also in German-occupied France were killed for being Jewish.

The USA: AI Overview
Between 1933 and 1945, the U.S. admitted 180,000 - 225,000 Jewish refugees fleeing Nazi persecution, with a peak of roughly 85,000 - 123,000 arriving between 1938 and 1941. Despite being the primary refuge, restrictive quotas, antisemitism, and security fears prevented hundreds of thousands more from entering.

Polar bears in southern Greenland are 'using jumping genes to rapidly rewrite their own DNA' to survive melting sea ice

Warming temperatures appear to be driving genetic mutations in some polar bears to help them survive the shifting climatic conditions.

Temperature stress may be driving genetic mutations in polar bears in southern Greenland, a new study reports.

The species is struggling in the face of a changing global climate. Global sea ice levels dropped to a record low in February, and the warming planet is pushing up sea levels. These changes threaten polar bears, which live and hunt on the shrinking ice sheets.

But a group of polar bears (Ursus maritimus) in southern Greenland may be evolving to cope with their challenging environment. Researchers have found a link between changes in polar bear DNA and rising temperatures.

The study, published Dec. 12 in the journal Mobile DNA, "shows, for the first time, that a unique group of polar bears in the warmest part of Greenland are using 'jumping genes' to rapidly rewrite their own DNA, which might be a desperate survival mechanism against melting sea ice," lead author Alice Godden, a senior research associate at the University of Anglia in the U.K., said in a statement.

Jumping genes, also known as transposons or transposable elements, are pieces of DNA that move from one location on the genome to another. Depending on where they insert themselves into the organism's genetic code, transposons can change how other genes are expressed. More than one-third of the polar bear genome is made up of transposable elements, while in plants it can be as much as 70%. By contrast, transposons make up about 45% of the human genome.

Transposons appear to be helping polar bears adapt to climate change, the authors of the new study argue.

A 2022 study published in journal Science described an isolated population of polar bears in southern Greenland that was less reliant on sea ice. The group split from a community of bears in northern Greenland about 200 years ago, and their DNA was different from that of bears in the North. The new research builds on these earlier findings.

The researchers analyzed the DNA of 17 adult polar bears in Greenland, 12 from the cooler northeast and five from the group in the warmer southeast. They compared transposon activity in the two populations, and then linked that with climate data.

In the Southeastern population, there were changes to genes linked to heat stress, aging, and metabolism, as well as fat processing, which is important when food is scarce. According to the study, this suggests the bears "might be adjusting to their warmer conditions."

"By comparing these bears' active genes to local climate data, we found that rising temperatures appear to be driving a dramatic increase in the activity of jumping genes within the southeastern Greenland bears' DNA," Godden said. "Essentially this means that different groups of bears are having different sections of their DNA changed at different rates, and this activity seems linked to their specific environment and climate."

Odelyah Kidmi

Odelyah Kidmi is a woman who received IDF training and has criticism concerning it. At present Odelyah is a lawer and political activist.
In her IDFF service Odelyah became an officer and successfully fulfilled her tasks but has much to say against the whole concept of women serving.

[ Women in the IDF help fulfill many tasks. In many cases the girls are inducted, receive some basic training after which they work in various Fields including clerical, medical, social, technical, intelligence, and other support activities.
In many cases there is little practical difference between what they do in the IDF and what they could do in civilian life.
Some few of them also serve in mixed male/female units in a front line capacity. Odelyah Kidmi was such a person. Her cricism is mainly directed towards the mixed-sex units but to some degree is applicable in a general sense. ]

Numerous agendas and political interests are involved.
Odelyah emphasizes that she is not against women serving in front-line units but rather in the way it was carried out during her service.
She herself received Front-Line Engineering instruction. 4 months basic training followed by more advanced training.
Most of the female trainees were physically impaired after the training. Some of them for all their lives, back problems, etc.
Most of the trainees suffered from interrupted menstruation probably due to the mental pressures.
Women in groups tend to experience (or not have) their monthly periods all at the same time.

In a mixed male-female unit:
The women had a much easier experience than the men, much less was required of them.
The women were much less proficient than the males.
In these mixed male-female  units male and female were sent in pairs (girl and boy) to lonely sentry positions for up to 4 hours with resultant complications.
With the women together there were cases of lesbian connections.
There were numerous instances where the professional military standards were not maintained in order to involve women and to publicize their participation.
Both women  and men taken into captivity by the Arabs suffered from sexual assault.

Claims that the Chief (female) Military Prosecutor (at present under suspicion of leaking a falsified film  against IDF soldiers) announced that she was providing information concerning IDF personnel to foreign parties.
Claims that Bibi Netanyahu needs to tread carefully lest he be overturned by a legal and/or military coup d'etre led by leftist circles.
