Judah
Judah was the fourth son of Jacob. Judah showed leadership and prevented the brothers from killing Joseph by proposing they sell him into servitude instead.
On the other had Judah should have averted them from mistreating Joseph altogether.
Judah married a Canaanite woman. He had there children from her two of whom died as punishment for wasting seed. One survived. This was Shelah. Later Judah begat twins, Zerah and Peretz, from Tamar.
When famine struck the Land all the brothers (except for Benjamin) went to Egypt to buy grain. Joseph was then the second in command over Egypt. He recognized his brothers but they did not know who he was.
Joseph questioned them, accused them of being spies, detained Simeon, and sent them back telling them not to return with out bringing Benjamin with them. The provisions they had brought from Egypt ran out.
Reuben asked Jacob to let Benjamin go with them so that they might return to Egypt. Jacob refused. Later Judah puts himself in pledge for the safety of Benjamin and persuades their father to let him go with them.
Judah displayed leadership, initiative and inspired confidence. In Egypt Joseph frees Simeon (Genesis 43:23), and then frames Benjamin with theft and wants to keep Benjamin with him. Judah remonstrates.
Price interprets the remonstration as if Judah was twisting the facts and blaming Joseph for everything. It does not have to be read that way. Judah expressed his willingness to stay as a slave of Joseph in place of Benjamin.
Joseph makes himself known to his brothers and they are reconciled. Jacob blessed Judah with leadership.
In the Wilderness Judah heads the threesome of Judah, Issachar, and Zebulon. This group leads all the other Tribes in their forward march. When they conquer the Land Judah is the only Tribe to conquer its entire territory almost at once.
Calev ben Yefuneh from Judah and Joshua ben Nun from Ephraim were the only two of the Tribes representatives who wanted tp go ahead and conquer the land. Calev despite his advanced age was later described as a formidable warrior.
Othniel the son of Kenaz was the brother of Calev.
David from Judah kills the giant Goliath and later becomes King of all Israel.
Betzalel from Judah was the chief artisan in charge of building the Tabernacle.He was asssited assisted by Aholiab from Dan.
Price claims that Judah displayed superior intelligence. Solomon the son of David was described as the wisest of all men (1-Kings 5:9-14).
Judah also has persistence.
Judah has the quality of admitting his mistakes. He acknowledges his responsibility for the pregnancy of Tamar. Akhan from the Tribe of Judah owns up to having stolen sanctified booty (Joshua 7:20). So too in the case of Boaz and King Hezekiah.
Judah also has weaknesses. Price goes into detail on this.

The Prophet Zechariah chapter 13 describes the End Times. The Spirit of
Impurity will be removed from the Land. This is what causes all of the

Jacob (aka Israel) Kept the Law of Tithing: Jacob linked his tithing to a Return to the House of his Father. We can do the same.
Genesis (NIV) 28:
18 Early the next morning Jacob took the stone he had placed under his head and set it up as a pillar and poured oil on top of it.
19 He called that place Bethel, though the city used to be called Luz.
