. The Significance of MBJ.
The personification of MBJ emphasizes the separate pathways of Judah and Joseph.
Ultimately they will converge but until they do each side has its own track laid out for it.

3. Alex Zephyr: The Return of Judah Precedes that of the Ten Tribes.
God truly wants the Jews to return to the Holy Land, as it clearly seen from Prophet Zechariah 2:7: "Deliver thyself, O Zion, that dwellest with the daughter of Babylon." In the prophecy of Micah 4:8 HaShem promises to the Jewish People to restore statehood which shall resemble a continuation of the glorious Kingdom of Israel in the time of David and Solomon: "And thou, O tower of the flock, the stronghold of the daughter of Zion, unto thee shall it come, even the first dominion; the kingdom shall come to the daughter of Jerusalem."
This prophecy found its fulfillment in 1948, when 'the daughter of Zion', the Jewish people, established after 2000 years of exile the Independent Jewish State of Israel in Palestine. It is very evident from Scripture that the Almighty wants the Jewish People to return to the Promised Land first, before the arrival of the rest of the Ten Tribes of Israel.
The return of the Ten Tribes has been limited to certain circumstances and conditions. Firstly, Judah has to return and prepare the Land for the vast multitudes from the Ten Tribes, "Also, O Judah, He hath set a harvest for thee, when I return the captivity of My people" (Hosea 6:11). 'A harvest' here is directly connected with the Ten Tribes when God ends their exile and under the leadership of the Messiah they will come home to the Promised Land. Judah, as the host, will organize their settlement and accommodation. "The Lord God which gathered the outcasts of Israel saith, yet will I gather others to him, beside those that are gathered unto him" (Isaiah 56:8). This is understood that God first will gather to the Holy Land the remnants of Judah, and then, when the appropriate time comes, He will gather the rest of the Ten Tribes together with the rest of the Jews in Diaspora, "In those days the house of Judah shall walk with the house of Israel, and they shall come together out of the land of the north to the land that I have given for an inheritance unto your fathers" (Jeremiah 3:18).
All over in the Hebrew Bible Hashem and His prophets directly emphasize that the Ten Tribes are not Jews, as it clearly shown in the Biblical passages above.

Typically a question like this will receive one or two answers from enthusiastic Jews who fancy themselves to be typically "darker." The answers will be accompanied by pictures of Ashkenazi Jews who look darkish. Three or four examples may be depicted though on occasion they may give you a larger number of small pictures in line, one after another.
The darkish phenotype presented however has been cherry-picked. It represents at the most 30 per cent of the Ashkenazis and less than 60% of the Sephardim!
Getting to the question: I would say that nearly all Jews consider themselves white in general terms as compared to darker peoples.
This is obvious. It is NOT judgmental NOR preferential. Just the reality.
A Mishna (Negaim 2:1) says that the Children of Israel (meaning in this case those of Ancient Judea) are not black like a Cushi nor white like a Germani but intermediate. Fair enough.
Another source says that Joseph looked like a "Germani" (Midrash, Breishit Rabah 86:3) meaning, say the Commentaries, very light like someone from the north.
Another sources says that the Tribe of Simeon and Levi had many "Bohakonim" (albinoid types) among them (Midrash, Breishit Rabah 98:5) .
Esau (the twin brother of Jacob, Genesis 25:25) and David (1-Samuel 16:2) were both described as "Admoni" meaning red-haired.
The heroine in Song of Solomon is darkish but comely (1:5). She asks the daughters of Jerusalem not to look askance at her since the sun has burnt her skin (1:6).
On the other hand, the Hero in Song of Solomon is described as having white and red skin (5:10), black air, a golden beard (5:11), and eyes like doves (5:12) implying a greyish color.

His locks are wavy,
And black as a raven.

By the rivers of waters,
The Nazirites (Religious enthusiasts who abstained from wine and haircuts) in Jerusalem were described as having skin that was whiter than milk (Lamentations 4:7).
Egyptian illustrations of the inhabitants of the Land of Canaan in Biblical times show very dark types alongside some with blond or red hair and bluish eyes.

In other words all types were present from the beginning.
A dark Mediterranean coloring may have been prevalent but it was not universal.
Environment also plays a part.
People with the genetic potential to produce different types may be expected to produce more of a type suited to the environment if and when that changes. For example, when Jews of mixed type move to Central Europe they who are more suited to the change in climate could eventually come to the fore.
As for DNA, this too is an outcome of environment.
There is the phenomenon of Gene Transposon in which genes move from one body to another through the air, or through water, or through some type of virus.
Once received the genes are hereditary. The Transposon takes place due to environmental changes. Look it up on the Web, 'Gene Transposon.'
An example is found in the Middle east.
The ancestors of the Kurds, Turks, and Jews (both Ashkenazi and Sephardi) all once dwelt in the Middle East. The Arabs including Palestinians did as well but they probably have greater admixture from outside (though often close by) elements. All these peoples have similar admixtures of YDNA haplotypes J1, J2, E1b, R1a, G2, L, Q etc. The relative proportions are alike in each case. (The DNA of the Arabs of Palestine and Syria are also not that much different but their divergence from the others is greater).
What does this mean?
The said peoples once all lived in the same area and were subject to the same influences and so their DNA changed in the same way. This does not mean they were necessarily related. They may not have been.

Jacob (aka Israel) Kept the Law of Tithing: Jacob linked his tithing to a Return to the House of his Father. We can do the same.
Genesis (NIV) 28:
18 Early the next morning Jacob took the stone he had placed under his head and set it up as a pillar and poured oil on top of it.
