Rabbi Eliyahu Avichail interview in Hebrew.
This is a program I happened across by chance. The relevant clip, for those who are interested, could probably be downloaded from The Knesset Broadcast site.
For those who do not know, Rabbi Avichail was the founder of Ami-Shav. He finds the Ten Tribes amongst eastern peoples, and does not like the notion of them being amongst Western People. He is now somewhat elderly but still active and has spent most of his life on this subject. The interview was interesting.
[There is another, newer, organization called Shvut-Ami headed by Michael Freund. It is a more modern imitation of Ami-Shav and to some degree has replaced it.]
We have met Rabbi Avichail on a few occasions and he is familiar with our work having read our Hebrew-Language publication, Achim Acharim (The Other Brothers)..
Anyway the interview was interesting,
Points of interest included anecdotes from the long life of Rabbi Avichail (he has just published his memoirs) along with his claims concerning the Ten Tribes.
Claims that one-half of the Tribe of Manasseh are on the Burman/India border. The other half of Manasseh they find in Kyrgistan (Mannus) in Central Asia. [We suspect that for this his research advisors (and he has them) used information supplied by us in our work, "The Khazars. Tribe 13", but they would never admit it.]
Also identifies Ten Tribes with Pathans (Afghanistan and Pakistan); and with adherents of Shinto in Japan.
Claims that Scripture locates the Ten Tribes in the East not the west but he did not give a source.
The only criteria he uses are reports of belonging tot he Ten Tribes along with signs of Judaism in practice such as customs, etc.
Spoke about the so-called Bnei Menasseh members of whom his organization helped bring to Israel.
Ca. 1500 beni Menasseh now in Israel if counting those who were born here. They come to Israel and convert under a special program. They are also helped materially in finding housing and work. Many live in West Bank communities such as Kiryat Araba. Most seem to remain religious after conversion.
Said that many more would have come but Certain Israeli Government Ministers interfered with bringing more over.
That was the interview.
In the past we spoke with Rabbi Avichail. He said in effect he is not interested in Biblical sources or even Rabbinical ones or anything else. All he searches for is some connection to Judaism and what he perceives as a willingness to keep Jewish customs.
He spent years on the subject, dedicated his live to it and may have suffered for it. Looking back he has achieved some success and his successor (or imitating rival), Shvut-Ami, is in effect carrying on his work.
It should also be pointed out however that he always had volunteers working for his organization and dedicated to it. In addition, by his own admission, he enjoyed the use of very generous funding when compared with what we cope with.
In some ways we are somewhat jealous and frustrated by this.
Nevertheless our own beliefs are closer to the truth and may yet bear fruit and we may have achieved something.

The videos that did not have sound recently, were indeed easier to hear. The video that started out with flute or cello type music in the background, wasn't too bad until it turned into a full marching band episode, making it harder to hear or discern every word. Some videos are louder, others you have to crank up your computer to the maximum volume in order to actually hear what's being said.
Just some feedback, we still enjoy the recordings. ;-)
An uplifting word of hope to start your day :)...
Job 5:17-27
Behold, happy is the man whom God corrects;Â
Therefore do not despise the chastening of the Almighty.
18 For He bruises, but He binds up;
He wounds, but His hands make whole.
19 He shall deliver you in six troubles,
Yes, in seven no evil shall touch you.
20 In famine He shall redeem you from death,
And in war from the power of the sword.
21 You shall be hidden from the scourge of the tongue,
And you shall not be afraid of destruction when it comes.
22 You shall laugh at destruction and famine,
And you shall not be afraid of the beasts of the earth.
23 For you shall have a covenant with the stones of the field,
And the beasts of the field shall be at peace with you.
24 You shall know that your tent is in peace;
You shall visit your dwelling and find nothing amiss.
25 You shall also know that your descendants shall be many,
And your offspring like the grass of the earth.
26 You shall come to the grave at a full age,
As a sheaf of grain ripens in its season.
27 Behold, this we have searched out;
It is true.
Hear it, and know for yourself.Â

DEUTEROMONY CHAPTER 5 29 Oh, that they had such a heart in them, to fear Me and to guard all My commands always, so that it might be well with them and with their children forever!
CHAPTER 66 ISAIAH 6 Â A roaring sound from the city, a voice from the Hekal, the voice of YHWH , repay- ing His enemies! 7 Before she laboured, she gave birth; before a pain came to her, she was deliv- ered of a male child. 8 Who has heard the like of this? Who has seen the like of these? Is a land brought forth in one day? Is a nation born at once? For as soon as Tsiyon laboured, she gave birth to her children.

What about Germans? I'm American, but name surename is German, from the 12-14th century.
I have a mix of bloodlines in my family (who doesn't), but only non-white is Native American.
Anyways, do the original Germans (Prussians or what have you) come from Israel?
Thank you for your time, my [the ALMIGHTY] bless and keep you Sir.

Khazars were and are Turkish! And Seljukis [founders of present-day Turkey] were their descendants.
