Israeli flags are hoisted on Sandy Row and Palestinian flags fly over the Falls Road. Israeli journalist Ithamar Handelman Smith is intrigued by why some people in Northern Ireland have taken sides in the Middle Eastern conflict. He tries to discover if this tribal support is simply an extension of the old familiar religious sectarian rivalries or if it means something deeper?
Note: Towards the end of the clip the Israeli interviewer remarks that despite their anti-Israeli political approach many Irish Catholics appear to identify with Jews.

2. Mark Williams: Jasper from the Far East, Benjamin, and Celts of the West
Shalom Yair
re Celtic Myths and Legends By T. W. Rolleston
I've been re-reading my copy and I came across this rather interesting
passage
"The imposing relics of their cult which the Megalithic People have
left us are full of indications of their religion. Take, for instance,
the remarkable tumulus of Mané-er-H'oeck, in Brittany. This monument
was explored in 1864 by M. René Galles, who describes it as absolutely
intact-the surface of the earth unbroken, and everything as the
builders left it. [See "Revue Archéologique," t. xii., 1865, "Fouilles
de René Galles."]
At the entrance to the rectangular chamber was a sculptured slab, on which was graven a mysterious sign, perhaps the totem of a chief. Immediately on entering the chamber was found a beautiful pendant in green jasper about the size of an egg. On the floor in the centre of the chamber was a most singular arrangement, consisting of a large ring of jadite, slightly oval in shape, with a magnificent axe-head, also of jadite, its point resting on the ring. The axe was a well-known symbol of power or godhead, and is frequently found in rock-carvings of the Bronze Age, as well as in Egyptian hieroglyphs, Minoan carvings, &c. At a little distance from these there lay two large pendants of jasper, then an axe-head in white jade, [Jade is not found in the native state in Europe, nor nearer than China.] then another jasper pendant. All these objects were ranged with evident intention en suite, forming a straight line which coincided exactly with one of the diagonals of the chamber, running from north-west to south-east. In one of the corners of the chamber were found 101 axe-heads in jade, jadite, and
[63]
fibrolite. There were no traces of bones or cinders, no funerary urn ;
the structure was a cenotaph. "Are we not here," asks Bertrand, "in
presence of some ceremony relating to the practices of magic?""
Note the presence of Jasper, believed by some to be the stone of
Benjamin, but also of jade; a mineral not native to western Europe,
which speaks of the existence of some kind of long ranged trading
network that stretched from one side of Eurasia to the other. Also note
the alignment of the objects. Why NW - SE? And why the objects in the
tumulus and not the tumulus itself?
Could this have been built by Benjaminites?

3. Opposition to Jews in Israel based on Atavistic Hatred of Jews. A Question of Ancestry?
Allegations of Misconduct by Israelis towards the Palestinians are almost invariably not true.
This says something.
People believe what they want to believe.
Even if they were true (and they are not) it would not explain why the alleged misdeeds by Israelis are emphasized ALL OVER THE WORLD
whereas those of other countries (e.g. Syria, Turkey, Sudan, Pakistan, etc) are virtually ignored.
[Even in the USA how many care what number of Mexicans are being massacred by each other just across their border?
Within the USA itself, do whites really are how many murders and rapes etc daily take place in black neighborhoods?]
The only countries where Israel sometimes gets a fair press are the USA, Canada, Australia, and sometimes Britain, and occasionally Cezchia.
All this has implications concerning the ancestry of those nations as compared with nations that are not so fair minded.
It is worth noting that even within Israel itself the media is less than impartial.
Recently two Arab youth both received two slaps in the face by Jewish youths before managing to get away. The whole affair was filmed and highy publicized under the heading, "Lynch in Jerusalem".
On the same day an elderly Rabbi in Acco was hospitalized after being severally beaten by Arabs. This was just one of an ongoing series of attacks by Arabs against religious Jews in Acco. The media reported the incident but with much less fanfare than with what happened in Jerusalem. In fact in Jerusalem Jews are attacked, molested, and harassed on an almost daily basis and the Media seldom bothers to even report it.

4. Answer to Question concerning Dan in the Time of Abraham
Denis McGowan wrote:
Shalom, dear Yair Davidiy,
I would like to ask a question on an extract you posted in relation to the tribes, namely that of Dan, where Jacob says of Dan:
Genesis 49:
16 Â Dan shall judge his people, as one of the tribes of Israel.
17 Dan shall be a serpent by the way, a viper by the path, that bites the horse's heels, so that its rider shall fall backward.
18 I have waited for your salvation, O Lord!
My understanding of the Jewish provenance relating to Dan, is that the supposedly now lost of missing tribe by that name is of the offshoot of Jacob mentioned in the preceding passage, but please correct me if I am incorrect in this assumption
My question is to ask what is the provenance of the 'Dan' referred to in Genesis 14:14 namely, where it mentions Dan in the context of the enemies of Abram being pursued "unto Dan", which is generally understood to refer to "the place of Dan" or "lands of Dan"?
And when Abram heard that his brother was taken captive, he armed his trained servants, born in his own house, three hundred and eighteen, and pursued them unto Dan.
As the Danites being referred to in the instance of Jacob's blessings would not have existed or had their name previously attached to a place or city called Dan as referred to in Genesis 14:14, this is something that struck me as being a point worthy of question.
Kind regards,
Denis McGowan

Brit-Am Reply:
Different answers exists to this question:
One says there was a place named Dan or something like it a bit further to the north in Syria and this is the place referred to in the story of Abraham. The Hebrew use of names in the Bible uses a limited number of combinations. All foreign names have to be read in accordance with the existing stock of names. This explains the existence of different peoples with the same names in Genesis 10 and similar phenomenon throughout Scripture.
We have referred to this in the past. My personal impression is that identity or close similarity of names often presaged future association or merging.
Another explanation is that Moses wrote the Bible and used anachronisms. Moses being the greatest prophet who has ever lived (Deuteronomy 34:10) foresaw that the place in question would be named Dan.

6. Brit-Am e-book production
We are preparing works for e-mail publication. It is taking longer than we thought.
"Role to Rule" should be ready soon.
At present it is being sold as a PRE-PUBLICATION work at a special price. It is not yet ready but soon, God willing, will be. It is also very worthwhile.
