January 28, 2017, was the New Month Day of Shevet.
Shevet pertains to the Tribe of Asher according to mainstream Opinion (Arizal and HaGra).
Other opinions say Benyamin (MidrashPeliah).
Hebrew Months of the Year:
Tishrei, Cheshvan, Kislev, Tevet, Shevat, Adar, Nisan, Iyar, Sivan, Tammuz, Av, Elul.
In leap years a second Adar is added.
