Yair answered:
Jews use products produced in Germany. There are those who prefer not to or at least look for an alternative when available. I came to Israel in the 1970s. I remember coming across a Jewish American friend from the Yeshiva (Rabbinical Studies Institute). He was standing on the edge of Kevish Gaiah the busiest highway in Israel. I asked him what he was doing?
'Looking for a taxi,' he replied.
'There are taxis going by every second,' I said.
'They are all Mercedes,' he answered.
Apparently due to Governmental agreements nearly all the taxis in Israel were Mercedes. [This has changed and is not the rule at present though Mercedes are still dominant in the taxi trade.] At that time in the '70s a few Peugeots also sometimes were used as taxis though this was rare. I assume he was eventually successful or gave up. He may have taken a bus but the buses were also often produced in Germany.

There will be a future re-union of Judah and Joseph. Neither the MALBIM nor Rabbi Schneerson were consciously aware that JOSEPH is to be identified with the "Anglo-Saxon" related peoples, i.e. the British, North Americans, and their "colonial" cousins. Nevertheless, their description of the relationship between Judah and Joseph finds some parallels in recent times with that between the Jews and the "Anglo-Saxon" nations. As pointed out in our book 'Ephraim,' Â the "Anglo-Saxon" nations are really the only cultural-ethnic bloc that is capable (barring supernatural miracles) of physically fulfilling the role ascribed to "Joseph" in Jewish sources. They are the only ones capable of defeating the combined forces of Edom (Germany and Europe) and Ishmael (the Moslem peoples) in armed confrontation. They are also the only ones who unto now have actively assisted the Jews in settling the Land of Israel. They have taken this task upon themselves almost as part of an obligation springing from their own national heritage.

The book "Kol HaTor" i.e.  "The Voice of the Turtledove" (a reference to Song of Songs 2:12) was written by Rabbi Hillel Rivlin (1758-1833) of Shklov, a disciple of the Vilna Gaon (1720-1797). It deals with the future Redemption and the task of the Messiah son of Joseph i.e. Moshiach ben Yoseph. This Messiah is an anointed leader who precedes the Messiah son of David and prepares the way for him. The Messiah son of Joseph is associated with the Lost Ten tribes (as explained by the Malbim on Ezekiel 37 and in articles by is on this matter). By noting what the Messiah son of Joseph is expected to do we may also learn as to who the Lost ten Tribes really are and what in turn is expected of them.
The Messiah son of Joseph will be the leader of the Lost Ten Tribes. He will be descended from Joseph. In a sense The Messiah son of Joseph may be understood to represent Joseph and the Lost Ten Tribes, as a collective body. By considering some of the deeds and actions of The Messiah son of Joseph we can gain further evidence as to who the descendants of Joseph are today.
