What does the title that Pahraoah gave to Joseph mean in Hebrew?
 Zaphenath-paneah: This means Revealer or Solver of Interpreter [Paneah] of Hidden Matters {Zephenath].
In Modern Hebrew the word Tsfonot (i.e. Zaphenath) means "Codes" i.e. Revealer of Codes.
This could be applied to the gathering of Intelligence.
Solving Enemy codes and gathering information about the enemy is important for all Nations at War.
Every country does it to some degree. Every country has its successes and failures in this field.
The Anglo-Saxon peoples, especially the British have often excelled at this practice.
In World War-2 The UK broke the German secret codes and the USA those of the Japanese.
Intelligence gathering also includes weather report, radar usages, and numerous other indications of possible enemy intention.
The impression is that the Peoples of Joseph placed more importance on intelligence gathering than other parties and were also more successful at it.
