Yair - Greetings from Canada! I am struck by your comments on the
Celts. If I understand you they were not Israelites. If
so who in the British Isles is of Israelite ancestry, and can we know?

We did not intend to say that the Celts were not Israelites but rather that only some of them were.
Celtic Civilization stretched at one stage from Ireland through Spain and France, much of Germany, Austria, Hungary, nearly all the way to the Black Sea,
[see Map] and even into parts of Turkey and Southern Russia. They had high technological and artistic achievements alongside much paganism and barbaric practices.
In general they are to identified with descendants of Gomer especially Riphat.
Israelites from the Ten Tribes settled among them and passed through their areas.
Today descendants of the Ten Tribes mainly in Ireland, Britain, France, Belgium, Netherlands, Denmark, Norway, Sweden, Switzerland, and Finland. This includes the offshoots of British Nations such as Canada, the USA, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa.
In the past there were many of them in other parts of Europe such Germany and Italy but these have mostly (we assume) moved out.
Apart from those who are born Jewish, none of the above can take it for granted that they descend from Israel. They may however rely on their own innate instincts and also the results of Brit-Am (and related) Research and the Laws of Probability alongside Biblical Prophecy.
This is the way Divine Providence wants things to be for the time being.

The Tribe of Issachar was part of the Ten Tribes. They mostly went into Exile and lost awareness of their ancestry. A few escaped to Judah and became part of the Jewish People. The Rabbis described descendants of Issachar among Judah as being Torah Scholars of a particular type. The described characteristics of Issachar fit the Swiss and Finnish Peoples who also descended from the Lost Ten Tribes and from the Tribe of Issachar who were part of them. 4. Douglas Fell: "Auld Lang Syne" and Remembering Zion
There is quite a famous Scotts poem that is sang each new year called Auld Lang Syne.
Bit weev wandert monae a weery fet,
sin ald lang syn.
But we've wandered many a weary foot, (describing the travel of the people of Scotland from Zion, similar to the exodus of Moses from Egypt)
The word 'sin' is likely to mean since, and therefore directly is referring to something in the past, like the destruction of the temple. But we've wandered many a weary foot since the destruction of Zion.
But seas between us bred hay roard
sin ald lang syn.
The seas between us refer directly to the Atlantic and Mediterranean sea, and again using the word since, referring directly to something that happened in the past.
These later chorus's do not make any sense if the interpretation is simply people we have previously met.
I have e-mailed this to the Burn's society for clarification on the word Syne as I believe it is Zion.
