1. New Article.
Your Israelite Brother. Iben Ezra and the Synonyms Israelite and Hebrew
http://hebrewnations.com/articles/bible/ivri.html
Extracts:
In his commentary to the Bible Iben Ezra examines the term Hebrew. He proves from Scripture that the names Hebrew and Israelite meant the same thing and were interchangeable.
We have discussed previously the meaning of the word Hebrew. A Hebrew was an Israelite. The terms Israelite and Hebrew were synonymous. In Hebrew the word for Hebrew is Ivri also pronounceable as Ibri or as Ha-Ivri or Ha-Iberi i.e. The (Ha-) Hebrew.
Later the inhabitants of the British Isles and Western Europe who in Modern Times are referred to as Celts called themselves Iberi or Hiberi i.e. Hiberi.....
Iben Ezra in his Commentary often engaged in disputes with Karaites, Jewish free-thinkers, or non-Jews all of whom offered explanations that were contrary to those accepted by mainstream Judaism.
Below is a rough translation and paraphrase of what Iben Ezra said on the subject. It is not an exact word-for-word rendition but it gives the gist of what he said:
Our forebears said that a Hebrew Slave meant an Israelite... There are those who dispute this [opinion of our forebears] and say that a Hebrew Slave was not an Israelite, but rather someone descended from the Family of Abraham. ...
Let us now examine the simple meaning of the words. If a Hebrew servant was not an Israelite why is it written, "if your Hebrew brother sells himself to you" (Deuteronomy 15:12)?
Â
Behold, the God of the Hebrews is synonymous with the God of Israel. The People of Israel are called Hebrews because they are related to Eber....
In all of Scripture we do not find the term Hebrew applied to anybody apart from the descendants of Jacob.
Â
Jeremiah 34:
8 This is the word that came to Jeremiah from the Lord, after King Zedekiah had made a covenant with all the people who were at Jerusalem to proclaim liberty to them: 9 that every man should set free his male and female slave, a Hebrew man or woman, that no one should keep a Jewish brother in bondage.
Â
Here we have the word Hebrew as interchangeable with Jewish meaning Israelite.
[Everywhere we find the word Hebrew in the Bible it means the same as Israelite.]

2. Is there any Difference Between Brit-Am and British Israelism?
Reply by Brit-Am:
I do not know exactly what you mean by British Israelite. The term in our times may have several different meanings. In general, British Israelism
"is a doctrine based on the hypothesis that people of Western European descent, particularly those in Great Britain, are the direct lineal descendants of theÂ
Ten Lost Tribes of Israel. "
From this point of view Brit-Am/Hebrew nations may also be described as a branch of British Israelism. This indeed is often how outsiders describe us.
In 1919 the British-Israel-World Federation (BIWF) was founded in London. Since then British Israelism is usually identified with this organization.
Though Brit-Am/Hebrew Nations believes like them that the Ten Tribes are to be found in the West there are differences between us.
These differentiating distinctions include:
We are pro-Zionist and believe in the State of Israel.  Some (but not all) amongst the BIWF are lukewarm or even antagonistic on this matter.
Our leadership is Jewish, has a pro-Jewish orientation, and works for the unification of the Jews (Judah) and the Ten Tribes. They do not.
They emphasize Christianity to the exclusion of all other considerations.
In the past some (but not all) of them were anti-Jewish and identified with anti-Jewish causes. Recently the leadership has changed and the situation may have improved.
We are acceptable to Religious Jews as well as to non-Jewish believers in the Bible. They might not be, neither would they necessarily wish to be.
We also identify the Historical Khazars as descended from the Ten Tribes. They have no position on this matter.
They often emphasize Tea Tephi and the British Crown. We are reserved concerning whether or not Tea Tephi ever existed. Concerning the British Crown we are supportive but do not emphasize the matter.
As well as Britain we are also place emphasis on the USA, Ulster, Ireland, and the other Tribes when the sources become available.
Our book "The Tribes" has important information concerning Israelite Ancestry for the Irish, Finnish, English, Dutch, Swedish, etc. Some of this very vital knowledge is not really available elsewhere.
There is also a difference in the sources we use and the nature of our researches. We use Biblical, Rabbinic, and different (often newer) sources in our researches. Nevertheless we find their past historical writings in many cases to be of great value.

3. New Article. Stonehenge, the Welsh and Troy by Dafydd
"Dafydd " from Australia: Megalithic Monuments as Israelite Signposts and the Welsh. Some assorted comments on your recent postings
Contents:
(1. The Dating of Stonehenge and Astronomy
(2. North Welsh and South Welsh, Troy (Silures of Wales from Simeon) versus Edomite Sparta and Rome
Brit-Am Replies:
(3. Megalithic Monuments
(4. It was not our article!
Extracts:
Due to centrifugal force there is more water "heaped" at the equator than at
the poles. This heaping effect, to use a non-scientific term, means that the
oceans are several miles deeper at the equator than at the poles. To
illustrate this point, some South American mountains in Colombia and Ecuador
are higher than Everest in the Himalayas if we were to measure their height
from the centre of the earth's core to the mountain's peaks rather than
their height above sea level. If the earth's equator had shifted more than a
few degrees, then whole continents would have slid under this band of
mountainous water before a new equator was established.
... the "lost Simeonites" established Troy, not Sparta. It is interesting to note that the Trojan Wars were fought
twice, once in the Aegean between (Edomite) Sparta and (Simeonite) Troy, and
again early in this era in Britain between (Edomite) Rome (originally a
Spartan colony) and the (Simeonite) Silures who claimed to have come from
Troy.
....The actor Richard Burton probably best typifies the Mediterranean features
of the Silures, he was a natural fit for playing roles such as the Roman
Marc Antony in "Cleopatra". He was born in Pontrhydfen in southern Wales and
the Wikipedia description of his father as "a man of extraordinary
eloquence, tremendous passion, great violence" does contain elements of what
we know of the character of Simeon from the Bible.

4. Message from Texas, USA: The Google Gaggle. We Spoke too Soon. The Conundrum Continues
Yair,
I don't know what's going on with Google. I just typed in "lost ten tribes" into Google and the results of the first page are copied below. Neither the Britam nor the Hebrew Nations websites are on the first page. I'm located in Texas. Maybe the search algorithm also distinguishes between places within the US. At least Stephen Collins made the first page.

5. Printing Books
The announcement that Role to Rule is now available in EBook format resulted in only a very few orders.
http://www.britam.org/books.html
There were those who write to say that if the work were available in book form they would order it.
So too, we received the following message:
Shalom, Yair, I am looking into one of your books you wrote called "Lost Israelite Identity, The Hebrew Ancestry Of Celtic Races". This book I would really like to have and purchase this book from you, but I was saddened to see that it is out of print. Is there any chance there will be a reprint of this book? I think this book will sell again if you make it available.  Awaiting your response.  Patrick.
To which we replied:
Lost Israelite Identity is divided into three segments. It is also very large with copious footnotes and endnotes. We intend to rewrite parts of it, add information, and then publish the final product as two or three separate works.
God bless you
Yair
We still have books available for selling. In addition Role to Rule is now ready to be printed at very short notice. We hope to prepare Ephraim, and Lost Israelite Identity (or developments of it)Â to a similar level. Then if funds become available we will be able to print them out immediately.
We also have other works in preparation including books based on Hosea and Isaiah.
Much of the work is supplementary and complementary. Each branch helps the other.
We are also pressured for money and might have to move. We will see how things go.
