Hi Yair, Do you think Israel will ever build a "Third Temple?" If so when?
===============================
Reply
At present the Israeli Government has no intention of this. On the contrary. At some time in the future the Third temple shall be rebuilt. See:
Brit-Am Answers to Richard McKay Concerning Rebuilding the Temple.

Midrash (Pesikta Zutratha Lekach Tov, Balak, Numbers 24;17) says that the Messiah Son of Joseph will rebuild the Temple.
Similarly, Nachmanides (Ramban, Sefer Ha-Geulah, shaar 4, p. 291 ) quotes the Midrash Pirkei Heicalot that for forty years the Messiah son of Ephraim shall ingather the exiles and fights wars against enemies until the arrival of the Messiah son of David.
In accordance with the understanding of the Malbim and the implied meaning of other sources we take Messiah son of Joseph (or of Ephraim) to represent a future leader of the Ten Tribes.

Addition to 16. The Iberi People of Scotland and Ireland
# The most common place-name element in Scotland, and one prevalent in Wales and Monmouthshire, is Aber, as in Aberdeen. The generic meaning of Aber is a 'crossing', particularly of a river as in the name Hebrew, and other forms such as the name Ober, Uber, and the word 'over', are found in hundreds of place-names on the continent, extending into Russia , the Balkans, and as far as Mongolia. #Â
Source: The Key by John Philip Cohane, USA, 1975, p.158
The examples J.P. Cohane gives however for Russia etc are based on the root BR or BRK. We disagree with the linguistics used in his work BUT on the point of the aber name in Wales and Scotland, he has a point.
Aber is a common component of place-names in Scotland and Wales. It appears to mean "over" just as the root for Hebrew in Hebrew means "over".
One explanation for the name Hebrew in Hebrew is "Over [beyond] the River Euphrates".

Additions to 14. Dacians (Denmark) also called Hiberi!
We also find indications of the Hebrew-Hebrew association in Danish tradition:
#Dan was the father of the most famous of the Norse gods, Odin. In turn they were both descended from the most powerful of the early gods, Bor, whose name is preserved in such other names as the Aurora Borealis. From the name Dan traditionally stemmed the name Denmark, or more properly Danmark. The name of Dan's father, Ypper, looks and sounds suspiciously like a corruption of Eber. #

Dan (king)

The Lejre Chronicle
The Chronicle of Lejre (Chronicon Lethrense) written about 1170 introduces a primeval King Ypper of Uppsala whose three sons were Dan, who afterwards ruled Denmark, Nori, who afterwards ruled Norway, and Osten, who afterwards ruled the Swedes. Dan apparently first ruled in Zealand for the Chronicle states that it was when Dan had saved his people from an attack by the Emperor Augustus that the Jutes and the men of Fyn and Scania also accepted him as king, whence the resultant expanded country of Denmark was named after him. Dan's wife was named Dana and his son was named Ro.
Ypper father of Dan probably has a name derived from Eber and meaning the same as Hebrew. The Danes of Denmark traced their ancestry to an ancient hero named Dan. Some sources equate thus Dan with the Partriarch Dan son of Jacob and forefather of the Israelite Tribe of Dan. We have evidence showing this equation to be the correct one. This too makes the Yppr-Eber-Hebrew equation more feasible.

Additions to 17. Conclusion. The Name Eber meaning Hebrew was applied to Hebrews!
Furthermore we have proofs from other sources identifying at least part of the peoples in question as of Israelite origin. The Eber-Hebrew equation is the most valid explanation for the appearance of the name amongst peoples of celtic culture. The root Eber or its Sctottish and Welsh variant Aber was even understood to ahve the same basic meaning as the Hebrew word Iber meaning Hebrew. This proof stands quite strongly on its own right. When it is considered in the context of additional eidence of Israelite origins amongst Celtic peoples then it becomes even stronger.

3. Moving and the Sixth Sense. Providence. A Recent Anecdote
I am in the process of moving to a new place of residence.
It often happens that when one is occupied with a certain subject or thinks of a matter then from Heaven information or contact with the subject in question comes forward.
Usually we do not notice this or take it for granted.
The principle works for good or bad and does not necessarily mean that the benefactor is especially favored.
Compulsive gamblers and the like may also on occasion experience it.
Even so, oftentimes the phenomenon takes place close to the time of prayer or other spiritual experience. We cannot discount Divine Favor from the equation.
Maimonides spoke of this and attempted (as I understand) to give a rational explanation.
Maimonides in effect seems to suggest that the human mind is like a gigantic computer that is constantly taking in and processing a vast amount of data.
This goes on in the background and we are not really aware of it.
The results however are real and rational though we ascribe them to instinct or intuition.
This explanation of Maimonides may have something to it in some cases.
There is however a spiritual dimension to it for which rational explanations are not sufficient.
What has all this got to do with my moving?
I pulled down from the loft a box that had been there for several years and found books in it. Some of these books I had forgotten about, others I hardly remember how or when they came to me. I opened a couple of them at random, but one after the other, and straight away came across important information on subjects that recently have occupied us.
To be specific I found information on items 1 and 2 above.
A rationalistic Maimonedian type explanation might say that in the past I must have looked at these works, registered the info in my mind, and then when I needed it subconsciously have known where to go. Maybe. These things happen. The information however concerns two widely disparate points found in entirely different sources. One point had occupied my attention a few days beforehand, another a few hours before looking at the books. The rationalistic explanation only serves to add depth to the basic point. Providence. Granted that at a remote stretch the rationalistic explanation may have something to it (though it leaves many questions unanswered) what made the two points come together? Did I subconsciously know in advance that I made need the two points of information at one and the same time and therefore put the books in the same box together with other books and then to open up only these 2 books years later at exactly the right pages?
Things like this may happen to all of us quite frequently. Usually we do not notice them or simply take them for granted.Â
There is another point made by Maimonides which is less rational but equally pertinent.
The more in tune one is with the Will of Heaven then the more immediate shall it be how one experiences the workings of Divine Providence.
Now if only I could apply this principle to my other problems.... or may be...
cf.
Joel 2:
28 Then afterwards
  I will pour out my spirit on all flesh;
your sons and your daughters shall prophesy,
your old men shall dream dreams,
and your young men shall see visions.
29 Even on the male and female slaves,
in those days, I will pour out my spirit.
[Note: In Modern Hebrew printed bibles the above section is listed as Joel chapter 3].
