2. Month of Av: Simeon
Today is the first of Av (also spelled as Ab). in this month the First and second Temples were destroyed and many other calamities happened to the Jewish People.
This monthy is attributed by the most recongnized sourzes (HaGra and HaAri) to the Tribe of Simeon. Other sources (Midrash Pliah and Rabad) accredit the month to Issachar.
