BROOK
The English word "BROOK" has two quite distinctly different meanings BOTH of which relate to Hebrew.
A. BROOK (n.) "small stream," O.E. broc "flowing stream." In Sussex and Kent, it means "water-meadow," and in plural, "low, marshy ground."
B. BROOK (v.) "to endure," O.E. brucan "use, enjoy, possess; eat; cohabit with." Sense of "use" applied to food led to "be able to digest," and by 1500s to "tolerate."

(b) Hebrew "BARAC" meaning bless, "BRACAH" meaning blessing, enjoyment.
English "BUY" purchase cf. Hebrew "BA-EI" request, need.
