Zionism in principle means an independent Jewish State. In the past many Zionist have been prepared to compromise on this matter.
Zionism existed even before the State of Israel was created and might be able to limper along even with only a Jewish minority.
Not all Jews would agree with this. Whatever the case the Jews as a people can live along aside others possibly even assimilating to the cultural mores of the others.
This is not an ideal solution and might not last long. Whatever the case it is only theoretical.
The Palestinian Arabs are mainly Muslims.
The surrounding nations are all Muslim. Islam at the present time does not tolerate any non-Islamic group in its midst.
This is the case everywhere.
The events of October 7, 2024, proved yet again for the umpteenth time that in order to survive Israel must firmly control all contiguous areas.
So too, it would be preferable that the populations of these regions be entirely Jewish or at least Jews be a substantial proportion of the inhabitants.
