So long as both peoples have near parity of population the Palestinians will always believe they can achieve their long term goal.
But add hundreds of millions of surprise Israelites to the equation and suddenly their sums don't quite add up.
I think it's an idea worth considering.

3. Is the Concept of a Future Messiah son of David (MBD) a later development in Biblical Thought?
What about the Messiah son of Joseph (MBJ)?
(a) MBD. The idea of a Future Messiah is found in hinted form and in express declaration throughout the Bible.

10 THE SCEPTER SHALL NOT DEPART FROM JUDAH,
NOR A LAWGIVER FROM BETWEEN HIS FEET,
UNTIL SHILOH COMES;
AND TO HIM SHALL BE THE INGATHERING OF THE PEOPLES.
"SHILOH" here is obviously a future leader who will have Messianic qualities.
This message is repeated and amplified upon numerous times, e.g. Isaiah, Jeremiah, Hosea, Zechariah, Plasms, etc.

(b) MBJ.
The Messiah son of Joseph (MBJ) is a different matter.
MBJ is hinted at from an early times and perhaps hinted at from near the beginning and express details concerning him are a later development.
Belief in MBD is an obligation in religious Judaism, MBJ however is optional.
We see MBJ as both a real person who will appear in the future and ALSO an embodiment of historical processes indicated by Scripture.
This approach is consistent with the teachings of Rabbi Avraham Isaac Kook based on older traditions.

Obadiah (TCT) 1:
21 AND SAVIORS SHALL ASCEND MT. ZION TO JUDGE THE MOUNTAIN OF ESAU, AND THE LORD SHALL HAVE THE KINGDOM.
The Prophet Obadiah mentions "Saviors" in the future. This has been understood as referring to both MBD and MBJ.

# 'AND THE LORD SHOWED ME FOUR CRAFTSMEN.' (Zechariah 2) WHO ARE THESE FOUR CRAFTSMEN? RAV CHUNAH THE SON OF BIZNA SAID IN THE NAME OF RABBI SHIMON, 'THESE ARE MOSHIACH BEN DOVID, MOSHIACH BEN YOSEF, ELIJAH AND THE RIGHTEOUS PRIEST.'
The RADAK however understood the Four Craftsmen to be Four Kingdoms.
The two interpretations do not necessarily contradict each other.

1 GIVE THANKS TO THE LORD, CALL OUT IN HIS NAME; MAKE HIS DEEDS KNOWN AMONG THE PEOPLES.

Note:
These last two verses are very important. The Land of Israel belongs tot he Tribes of Israel for an everlasting possession.
This however is contingent ultimately on Keeping the Law.

The Old Norse cognate hamarr meant "stone, crag". suggests an original sense of the Germanic words as "tool with a stone head."
cf. Hebrew, "Hamam," give or receive a great blow.
e.g. to hammer, strike, stupefy with blows, shock.

HALO
Rays of holy light encircling the head. Greek halos "disk of the sun or moon; ring of light around the sun or moon."
cf. Hebrew, "Hilah," meaning Halo, from a Hebrew root HLL connoting light, illuminate.
cf. English word "holy" meaning sacred.

HUMBLE
Latin humilis "lowly, humble," from humus "earth."
cf. Hebrew "Hamal" (chamal) "Take pity."

HARPOON
perhaps from Greek 'harpage,' sickle.

cf. Hebrew "Herev" (the v,b, and p, sounds can interchange) meaning "sword."

Late 1200s, "hurrying, haste; celerity, swiftness, speed;" Old English haete "violent, vehement, impetuous."
