Each tribe is a mini-Kingdom in its own right. You need all types. Also not every Israelite within a certain area belongs to the same Tribe.
Within the tribe of Dan there existed southern and northern sections that were different from each other.
Keeping these reservations in mind we may say:
Dan was proficient in legal matters, (arbitration, etc), and everything associated with them.
Also police work.
Dan also showed maritime qualities.

My comment: It is a very nice interview. R. Wolicki is speaking with Lana Silk, the President and CEO of the Christian organization "Transform Iran", whose prime purpose is to bring (convert) Christianity to the people of Iran. Admittedly, if Islamic Republic of Iran switched to Christian religion, Israel and all freedom loving words would be happier and safer. On the other hand, we have to realize that Christianity and Judaism are not the same religions � they are irrevocably different. It may sound as not a politically correct statement, but, in fact, it is true. Since the conversation is revolving about the destiny of Iran, I would like to bring to your attention the prophecy of Jeremiah 49:34-39, which predicts the future of Elam (Iran). Particularly, I want to articulate this verse: "I will set My throne in Elam =Persia" (Verse 38). It is God of Israel speaking in His Holy Hebrew Bible, which has nothing to do with Jesus and Christianity. So, when HaShem "destroy the king and the princes (Supreme leader Ayatollah Khamenei and his Islamo-nazi regime)", He personally intervene with Divine Judgment and establish in Iran religion based on His everlasting Heavenly Torah, not based on a New Testament fantasies � this is the meaning of "I will set My throne in Elam (Persia)". God's judgment of Elam-Iran has not occurred in recorded history but will be fulfilled in the not so distant future (very soon, in our days). God will break not only the Iranian bloody regime but also its militant fanatic religion of Islam. He establishes His rule and authority over the entire world, including the people of Iran.
