Who and What is the Messiah son of Joseph?
There were actually 13 Tribes of Israel BUT a quorum of 12 is maintained by different ways of counting. Joseph is divided into 2 Tribes, Ephraim and Manasseh. After the death of King Solomon 10 of the Tribes separated and created their own Kingdom of Israel. This separate Kingdom was conquered by the Assyrians and taken into Exile. They disappeared. Indications from the Bible and other sources show that these Lost Ten Tribe moved to Western Europe.
The Tribes of Joseph, Ephraim and Manasseh, became predominant in the Isles of Britain and after that in North America. The USA and Britain and related nations are descended from the Lost Ten Tribes (LTTs) amongt whom the Tribes of Joseph (Ephraim and Manasseh) are to be found. Jewish Rabbinical traditions based on Scripture said that in the End Times Judah (the Jews) would be helped to settled in the Holy Land by the LTTs especially those of Joseph. Britain and the USA did help the Jews settle in the Holy Land. Britain helped found the country of Israel and to stabilize its initial stages. After that, the USA assisted greatly in enabling the Jews (Judah) to defend themselves, to stabilize their economy, to bring in more immigrants,and to expand their settlements. This is what was prophesied concerning the LTTs of the tribes of Joseph, Ephraim and Manasseh. This is what was said they would do. This is what they did. This is Proof of their Israelite Origins.
The overwhelming message concerning MBJ (Messiah ben Joseph) is that he will be the leader of the Ten Tribes and that the Ten Tribes will follow after him. He will initiate the affirmation of their identification! MBJ describes both a real person and an historical process that is alreay going on.
The Leading Rabbis of Recent Generations spoke of this.
These include Rabbi Menesseh ben Yisroel (ca. 1650), the Hatam Sofer (1732-1839), Rabbi Shimshon Raphael Hirsch (1808-1888), the Malbim 1809-1879), Rabbi Zadok ha-Kohen Rabinowitz of Lublin (1823-1900), and others: "MBJ" is both an histroical process and a real person who will appear towards the End Times and lead the Ten Tribes. He will save them from their enemies and initiate a reunification with Judah. The Historical Process may have begun.
Afterwards the Messiah son of David (MBD) will appear and complete the process. In addition to that nearly every source concerning MBJ speaks of his descent from Joseph and strongly implies that he will head the LTTs (Lost Ten Tribes).
Recurring Patterns of Ancestry.
In may ways Joshua son of Nun the assistant of Moses may be considered a prototype of the Messiah son of Joseph (MBJ).

and the Lot Ten Tribes with MBJ at their head will assist Judah when returning to the Holy Land.
Both Britain (at first) and the USA have each in its own way fulfilled this role.
This is additional proof that descendants of the Lost Ten Tribes are prominent among them.

Joshua was a pre-adumbration of the Future Messiah son of Joseph.
