The Book of Esther refers to many of the common people "becoming Jews" after the defeat of their adversaries.
Esther (NIV) 8: 17 "AND MANY PEOPLE OF OTHER NATIONALITIES BECAME JEWS BECAUSE FEAR OF THE JEWS HAD SEIZED THEM."
Esther (CJB Chabad) 8: 17 AND IN EVERY PROVINCE AND IN EVERY CITY, WHEREVER THE KING'S ORDER AND HIS EDICT REACHED,

The Hebrew expression translated as "became Jews" is "MitYahadim." This could alternatively connote "became like Jews." The Sanhedrin People explain that this does not mean they became Jewish but rather adopted features of Judaism and is referring to Zoroastrianism in its early days. This is a possibility but does not contradict the Jewish aspects of Zoroastrianism as having existed before then, closer to the time of Jeremiah.
